I'll never forget my FIRST place 7th winning science fair project...
"One Plant and Three Soils - Which Soil Promotes Better Growth"
I used simple Ivy as the plant, and planted them in top soil, sand, and peat. Watered them the same amount at the same time, and offered them the same sunlight. (FYI, the one planted in peat THRIVED.)
