sci-fi

::MickeyMo I don't think you should cancel your plans based on other people's opinions.
That's all we have to go on here at the DIS. I surely wouldn't make decisions based on a few comments, or even a lot of comments from people who clearly have different standards than I do. However, I've seen a lot of negative comments, some from people about whom I've gained enough understanding (from their postings) to know their assessments are accurate and applicable for me. That's really what we have to use in making our planning decisions here on the DIS, and it's a great advantage we have over folks who don't have such a diverse source of insight.

::MickeyMo When we first decided to do more than CS's on our vacations we looked through Birnbaums Dining Guide. From there we picked out all the restaurants that sounded interesting to us, or had types of food we would enjoy. Then we ate there. We didn't look for reviews because we wanted to form our own personal opinions and not have it warped by other people either loving it or hating it. It's good to know what people think, but we don't not eat somewhere because there were more bad than good. ::MinnieMo

We ate there 3 weeks ago. I am very glad I tried it...the atmospere was interesting..the car was cool...that's the good news.

Bad news...the food wasn't terrible, just not very good. Everything was lukewarm at best. It was so crowded with the dining plan, that I believe they had difficulty managing things. As a family of 5 it was tough because someone had to sit alone.

With all that said, I am GLAD I tried it....and I would still recommend going there to someone who's never been...It's an interesting experience & who knows, next time they might be totally on their game and the food may be fabulous!

I say try for yourself, every one has there own opion for any of the Disney resturants. Some say great, some say bad. If you don't try yourself you will never know. I myself have enjoyed the Si-FI. :Pinkbounc

We went a few weeks ago for lunch. No problems in my book. Burgers, onion rings, salads all around and all were finger lickin good! I'd go back- those burgers were quite tasty, as were the o-rings!

Was there last week. Oh that seems so long ago. Anyway we had great food there. We have eaten here everytime we've been down to Disney and never had a bad meal. Good Luck and Have Fun. :flower:

We've been to Sci Fi 5 times since 2001, always go for lunch, always get basics like burgers, fries and shakes, and have never been disappointed in the food. :)
This is what we always order. We've never been disappointed either. In May 2006, when we go again,we're going to 50's Prime Time. My DD,11, likes the Sci-fi better but we went there 2 years in a row. This summer we're going to Prime Time for me!!

We hadn't been to Sci fi either and I read the reviews on here and questioned my PS too. We went in Feb.05 and I would go again because the atmosphere is so cool and sitting in cars watching movies is really neat. My kids loved it and the shakes are to dye for. I had the steak sandwich (a idea I got from the board) and it was awful but my husband and the kids had hamburgers and fries and they were great and you can ask for them a the dinner time. It is a restaurant you have to try at least once.

Years ago on the Dis, people gave me the advice to stick with the burgers and shakes at this place and you'll be fine.

Well, DH and I really wanted to try Sci-fi because of the atmosphere..........and no matter how tempted I was to order something else, I ordered hamburger, onion rings and shake. It was one of the best burgers I've had at WDW. And the onion rings were good also.

We can't wait to take our kids next month and you KNOW what I'll be ordering, don't you? :teeth:
