Just curious.. how does everyone feel about the sci-fi diner in the studios? It seemed like it was a huge disappointment for me. anyone have any positive experiences?

It's totally hit or miss. I've had GREAT experiences there, and I've had some of the WORST there as well. :sad2:

I thought my meal there was okay, however the atomosphere was way cool:thumbsup2

Milkshakes and burgers are very good and the atmosphere is phenomenal!!! LOVE Sci-Fi!!!!:thumbsup2

And adding some kaluha to your milkshake makes it even more fun IMO :rotfl:

We have always stuck with this plan & it's always good!

Yeah, it's not a great place for food (stick to burgers, etc). But we liked the atmosphere and have had great CMs. 4 years later my DS is still talking about the speeding ticket he got. :goodvibes

We ate there once years ago and did not like it that much. Food was not that good, the kids had 0 interest in the movie playing and it just felt kinda weird not facing each other while eating at a restaurant.

weve been there many times but i must admit we only do it because the kids wanted to do it. This last time we went my son brought the step kids who have never been to wdw. Id prefer mama melrose etc. I think the food isnt that good and to me it has become a been there done it kind of place.

We go every trip and always have a great time. The atmosphere is fun and a good place to get a burger, onion rings, and a milk shake;)

We wanted to try it at least once, so we did...the best thing it did for us was give us some funny memories, because the food was nothing to write home about. The atmosphere is pretty cool, but if you're husky, like my in-laws, DH and me, it's pretty crowded in those car-booths. Even DD though, who was 8 at the time (and thin) felt it was fun, but a bit cramped. I sat alone in the middle seat, so I was OK.

Glad we experienced it, though.

:sunny:

I thought the food was good - definitely not horrible, but definitely not food I'd go out of my way to eat. I've had the turkey sandwich (maybe it was a club? I can't remember) and BLT soup (just like Campbell's - tomatoey and watery) and I think next I go I'll go with a burger. We had fun there though!

Dh and the kids love it there. I've thought it was ok and I do like their milkshakes and onion rings.

I booked it again at DD10's request.

I'll second this. We really went more for the entertainment and "unique" atmosphere of the place. All three of my boys LOVED it. The burgers were good, the milkshakes and dessert were great, and overall we just had a fun time.

.

We really enjoyed it, however, we stuck to burgers, onion rings and shakes. Enjoyed the movies, the CMs were so friendly and our food was tasty. Paid OOP for it, however. We did not think it was a good value, at all, on the DDP.

I've had nothing but good experiences. They've been very accomodating to my diet, and I love the atmosphere. The seared tofu is fantastic :lovestruc

The only downside to the restaurant, in my opinion, is sharing a car with other parties. It wasn't as awkward when we sat in the front. But on our second trip, we sat behind a family with a baby and it was just weird.

Burgers are very good, as are the milkshakes, and you can't beat the atmosphere. It's maybe the best themed restaurant IN a park.

That being said, the service can be terrible. We ordered burgers last trip, and it took almost an hour to get them. :scared1:

I'm glad I got to eat there at least once (server was nice and food was good), but wouldn't go there again unless I was with someone who really wanted to go there. I'd rather go to the Prime-Time Cafe if in DHS. I just like Prime-Time more
