Just wondering what other have experienced with taking toddlers to Sci-Fi. I can't imagine that the shorts they play are too intense, but I am concerned that to a 2 year old (and possibly to my 4 year old) they might be a little to much. Having never eaten there, I have no idea what to expect. Anyone have any stories, good or bad to share?

Thanks in advance,
Chris

Don't worry about it. I took a 2 and 6 year old this past December and there were no issues. They play old cartoon type things. Nothing I remember was scary or intense. They should enjoy it. Our only problem - having the kids eat their meals. They wanted to watch the big screen instead!

Enjoy it.

Same here - in 2007, I had a 5 yr old and 3 yr old and they both did great. The clips are B movies, more funny than scary. Besides, the kids are so thrilled to eat in the cars they don't pay that much attention to the screen. Go and have a great time!

We have eaten here twice in the last year. Our kids ages 6 & 8 loved getting to watch the movies while eating and even our two nephews age 3 loved it as well. Some of the clips are very silly and not scary at all. My dd8 gets scared easily and she wasn't at all scared. My ds6 loved it the most because he is a big Tom and Jerry fan and they played one of their little cartoons while we were in there.

My DD2 and DD6 loved it when we were there in December! As PP mentioned, there is a Tom and Jerry cartoon clip that they loved. DD2 was more interested in sitting in the car than watching the clips.

Our 3 year old grandson, who was afraid of everything else at WDW, loved Sci Fi.

If you are seated in the cars section you will be seated two in the "front" row and two in the second row which makes it difficult for two parents seated apart to assist both kids. I don't like a restaurant where we can't sit as a family and talk about our day in the park.

Well, if mom and dad are there, one can sit with each child in each car seat.

Also, I think the only thing a younger kid might find scary is when the Attack of the 50 foot Woman clip showed her throwing a giant needle and stabbing some guy in the chest with it (no blood or anything). My son thought it was funny when he was younger but his sense of humor is like his father's...

I think your children will have a great time. There is enough to see inside to keep them busy. Our children received driver's license after their meal. As an adult, it is my brother's favorite places to eat at WDW.

Obviously I will be in the minority here but when my DS was 5 he was uncomfortable in Sci-Fi because of the movie clips. He kept asking if the monsters were real and would the swamp monster hurt the lady he was carrying.

When we look back now we (including DS) think it is funny but I can assure you at the time it was not. He was going through a very sensitive time in his development and some of the dark rides at Disney were tough for him that trip (getting stuck in the darkest part of Spaceship Earth our first day was the beginning of it all I believe).

The atmosphere at Sci-Fi is really cool and eating in the car helped distract him enough to get through the meal but I remember taking him out early while DH and DD finished and paid the bill.
