We are doing the Fantasmic package and having an early lunch at Mama Melrose. My kids very much want to eat at Sci-Fi as they have seen pictures of when dh and I ate there on our honeymoon. The earliest reservation I could get was 6:45pm. I know we need to get in line for Fantasmic about 30-45min before the 9pm show. :confused3 Do you think we'll make it or should I try for Sci-Fi a different day. I'm trying to leave 2 days of our trip open so we can decide what we feel like doing that day but if I have to commit us to a second HS day I guess I can do that.

Any thoughts?? Thanks!

It might be close, it's a very busy time of year. Maybe you should try getting to Sci-Fi early and see if they will seat you earlier than your 6:45 reservation. Good luck!

The last time we ate at Sci-Fi it was a 2 hour dinner. And the place was not crowded. 4 people mostly burgers and onion rings and the service was so slow it took 2 hours.

I would try to get seated early and hope it does'nt take 2 hours. Maybe mentioning to your server that you have Fantasmic reservations they may get you out. But..I do not like to be rushed. I would plan a second day to HS just for Sci-Fi and another go at TSM. Not to mention TOT and RRC.

Thanks for the replies. I think we'll just plan on another HS day as the whole point of eating there is to enjoy the atmosphere and if I'm rushing everyone it won't be fun for me or them!

I guess if I *have* to, I'll take another stab at TOT, TSM, etc :lmao:

ETA: Yikes! 2 hours seems like a long time. I keep reading how many diners feel rushed at TS meals but I guess you didn't feel that way!

We were in and out of Sci-Fi within an hour when we went - but that was maybe 5 years ago. We are only 2 adults .. so maybe that's why?

Regardless of how long it may take to eat .. are you sure you would be hungry enough for dinner at Sci-Fi after having the lunch at Mama Melrose? That's something I would also consider.

I too think it is best to schedule Sci-Fi on a different day ... it will be more enjoyable!

so about 1 hour to eat at Sci-Fi? You'll need walking time from Sci-Fi to Fantasmic. In our experience we have had some long waits for our Sci-Fi reservation. I would keep it and just go later if you have to Fantasmic.. but then again i've seen the show a bunch and dont like sitting and waiting so long. Last time we got to Fantasmic late b/c i had the time wrong and all that was left was standing room only.. we still saw enough of the show and the best part was we left right away as it was ending and had no crowds at all when we left the show. However, not a good view for the kids.. you have to stand. Any hoo... you could try showing up early for your ADR and hopefully get seated earlier. We did that for 50's once and they seated us right away even though we were really early.
