I just made an ADR for our group at Sci Fi for our last night (hubbys are Sci Fi buffs so I thought it would be fun!). I do have 2 questions:

1. Are any of the move clips SCARY??? :darth: Will young children be okay? I haven't seen anything negative, but am worried the 5 year olds in the group might get upset?

2. Do you get the glowing ice cubes with all drinks, or do you have to pay extra for them, or order special drinks to get them?

Thanks!

Hello...we tried Sci-Fi for the first time in Nov. The movie clips aren't scary at all. There were a bunch of little ones in there and they enjoyed the movie clips. Some of them were old cartoons like Tom and Jerry :thumbsup2

As far as the glowing ice cubes I think you have to pay extra for those.
I hope you like it as much as we did. My kids are still talking about it :yay:

We were there in June with our youngest being 2. Everyone enjoyed watching the clips. Especially the Tom and Jerry movies..

i think one of our kids would have been scared at 5..wasn't crazy about the huge size of anything in the movies and scared of monsters in general( as i recall there are clips of the 50 ft man or what ever he is called, some robots) nothing bad for an adult but an easily scared child might not like it. if they are nervous on some of the rides most kids handle i might skip it. ( :lmao: actually i'd skip it anyway due to the food but i know some like it and the atmosphere is cute for the average attender)

We ate there last week, our 4YO was frightened by any of the clips, in fact he was too busy coloring to really notice. Yes, you do have to pay extra for the icecube. We thought the food was good.

I brought my DS(4 1/2) in Aug and he LOVED it. He asked to eat there again in Oct with my DD(6 1/2) and DD(33 months). My oldest really enjoyed it but my youngest LOVED it! We had a seat close to the screen and she loved all the movies. She loves monsters and dinos (was only afraid of the princesses at WDW). They all loved eating in the cars. If you stick to basics you'll be fine. We got burgers and salads and everything was great. You can order the ice cubes with any drink for extra. We opted for shakes.

We were also busy having a good time with our waiter, glow cube, birthday announcement that we hardly noticed any of the clips. From what I do recall they weren't scary though. We really enjoyed our food and will be going back in May !

My kids liked it this summer they were 4 and 3 at the time. Loved the cars liked the movie clips liked the drinks with the ice cubes.

I do think they liked 50's prime time better though. They kept asking to go back there but we couldnt get in.

We were there in Nov. DD5 and DS3 weren't scared at all. We were on the dining plan and got glowing cubes, I was expecting to pay a little extra for those, but I guess they were included. :goodvibes

I thought the Sci-Fi was pretty decent....Food wasn't that great IMO, but we had a good server and it was interesting to see once...For us, however, it was one of those things you have to do at least once but not every trip...Ohana on the other hand is once of those places we like to go to twice on every trip!

The consesis on this board seems to be Sci Fi is better for lunch than dinner sooo you may want to do a late lunch rather than dinner.
