Sci-fi or Whispering Canyon?

Which would you choose ?? Sci- fi or Whispering Canyon and why.
I have never been to either.

Honestly, we haven't been there yet, but we have been to Sci-fi. It was a little dark for us (especially with little ones) and the food AND service were just so-so. I've heard great things about Whispering Canyon.. It was certainly nice to have experienced Sci-fi, though. I'm glad I can say I've been there at least once. All the Disney restaurants have something different to offer. . With that in mind, we don't plan on going back there this year when we go back to Disney. Once was good enough for us!!

Sci-Fi was nice, especially their milkshakes, but we'll probably never do it again either.

DH and I went to Sci-Fi and were not impressed. The loop of sci-fi shows gets boring after the 2nd round and we though the food was just O.K. Whispering Canyon was a blast! We loved it! The food was hot, fresh, and very tasty and the atmosphere was great! I laughed until I cried when DH requested a 3rd refill and was brought a HUGE container of diet Coke! We're skipping Sc-Fi this year and I've already made our ADRs for WC!

I have been to both.

If I had to choose just one;

Sci-Fi, because it is so unique. You have to stop in at least once.

Sci Fi for sure! The atmosphere is AWESOME! No complaints with the food either. Yeah the film gets old pretty fast but it's still fun! Kids really enjoy it! My hubby and I are so fascinated by the way things are built and put together so that alone kept us busy! It's pretty dark in there and quiet, almost eerie but cool at the same time. We like it a lot. Now WC is fun too. They have a huge table of logs out front for kids to play with and my kids loved that. We had a nice server but he wasn't one of the funny ones that gets all loud and crazy. Some people like WC for that reason. Some people don't like to be made fun of so these two places are literally night and day! Great food at both! We'd choose Sci Fi though. We like that menu and the rest better. Have fun on your trip!!!

Whispering Canyon. Why? Because it's not the Sci-Fi. I agree that the milkshake at Sci-Fi was good (what milkshake isn't), but the rest of the food was beyond bad. You look and the menu and say, "how could they possibly ruin a sandwich? Those reviews must have been wrong." Then you order, and find out.

The atmosphere at the Sci-Fi is great, though. Just don't expect the food to be edible.

If I were to choose, I would go with WC. Personally we haven't eaten there but we have eaten at Sci Fi.

Seating was cute, but awkward. We are a family of 5 and ended up having to put the kids (ages 7, 4 & 3 at the time) all on one "seat" in front of us with their backs to us and then we had my parents on the "seat" behind us...hard to actually see what kind of mess the kiddos were making and hard to have conversations. Maybe that's why it was so quiet in there!

This is just all my opinion though. We really didn't enjoy the food and will probably never go back. I have heard good things about WC though and hope to try it one day! Good luck!

I would do Whispering Canyon, we loved it!! It's the only place from our lasttrip that the kids insisted we do again. The food was good and the atmosphere was loads of fun. You have to ask for some ketchup!

Now we have not been to Sci-fi yet, but we do have our adr for it in Oct., but I think I would have given it up for the WC adr (which we are going back to also)

I would choose both if we could but if I had to make a choice it would be Whispering Canyon...

Both places have simple foods and small menus... We like simple, American-style food... They both have that really good milkshake... Both have cool atmospheres that are good for adults and children...

But Whispering Canyon wins for us because we like to talk to each other during our meal... Sci-Fi is not set-up for meal conversation.... We also like the food a bit more at WC.... Overall, it is a better meal.... Sci-Fi wins for an experience and it is something I think everyone should try once... But WC wins on overall meal.

I have been to both and I will always choose Sci-fi over Whispering Canyon Cafe. I did not like the "antics" at WCC. Just not my thing. On the other hand, I love the burgers at Sci-fi and I love the atmosphere. I have never had anything bad there.

The food at Sci-Fi is TERRIBLE. My aunt couldn't even chew her steak it was so tough. The atmosphere is great at Sci-Fi and I would go there for dessert I wouldn't not waste my money on a meal.

We absolutely love the food at WC and it is a must do for us. We tried Sci Fi last trip for lunch and really enjoyed the experience. The theming is really fun. We followed everyone's advice and stuck to burgers and shakes and weren't disappointed - a great break from the August midday heat.

We are doing WC for dinner - love the All You Can Eat Skillet - and hitting Sci Fi for lunch.

They are very different experiences, but I think you will enjoy either one.

Sci Fi is Disney magic at it's finest and the best themed restaurant at Disney. Go at lunch - the burgers are tasty. Your kids will think it's awesome, and isn't that what it's all about?

I've been many times since MGM opened (still can't call it the new name!) and loved it every time.

WCC is okay; been once, even stayed at WL last trip and didn't bother going. It's okay food, and if you have a great server can be a lot of fun but can also be nothing more than a hotel lobby restaurant. My mom tells me I went as a child but I don't remember anything about it; I do remember the SciFi =)

I would go to Sci-Fi for lunch, not for dinner. I absolutely love the atmosphere there and I think the films are hysterical! It is one of the coolest Disney restaurants we have been to.

Have a SNACK at Sci Fi, because it's worth the experience. Have a shake, an appetizer or a treat. That's it. The food is so-so (our steaks were like shoe leather and had it not been so dark, I would have been able to see it!)

Have a MEAL at Whispering Canyon. It's more family friendly, it's rowdy and fun and the food's not too bad. It's VERY plentiful though. Same milkshakes at both places too. And the trip there on the boat with the water pageant sailing by is just a bonus. And checking out WL is neat too!

We've eaten at both places and enjoyed them. Going to SciFi again in July. May do Whispering Canyon again next April if we stay at WLV.

We've been to both, and by far Sci-Fi is the best!!! We eat at Sci-Fi every trip for lunch and throughly enjoy it.
