Can't decide which to have lunch at in HS. Make ADRs soon and haven't tried either one.

I like Sci-Fi. The atmosphere is different and quirky. I've never tried 50s Prime Time, because I wouldn't enjoy the interaction.

Never been in Prime Time, but we go to Sci-Fi every time. We really like the theme. Food is nothing to write home about, but not that bad either.

Another vote for Sci-Fi. We did Prime Time on our first trip many years ago. Haven't been tempted to return. Nothing bad, just nothing that says gotta go back.

We go to Sci-Fi about every other trip. In our experience the food is good not great but the atmosphere makes up for it. The tables and seats in the cars are pretty tight, so be prepared for an intimate experience!

Sci Fi is one of the best, if not best, themed restaurants in WDW or wherever. It's one we try to eat at every trip. Food is reasonable for WDW eats, we stay with the basics (no steak).

50's is also highly themed, but you will pay more for your food, that at this point pushing the limit when am OOP.

I enjoy Sci-Fi for the movies & atmosphere. One of WDW's best themed, fun & classic food joints. But not a good place to burn a TS credit if on DP. Split an appy and have drinks OOP.

I love the kids meatless meatballs-50's diner is fun.

Our last visit to scifi diner was overshadowed by the menu change and no sweet potato fries :hyper2:
Incidentally-we probably had just as much interaction; if no more with our server at scifi:fish:

I've been to both and the atmosphere at sci fi is great but the food at 50s was much better. At sci go, you sit in cars under a star lit sky watching old boring movies but it's a nice experience. At 50s the servers "messed around" with us but it wasn't over the top. 50s also made you feel like you were in moms kitchen back in the day which I thought was pretty neat. My family loves both so we usually do sci fi for lunch and 50s for dinner on the same day but if i could only choose 1, I'd probably chose 50s.

50's Prime Time - the food is amazing. The menu didn't really appeal to us at all but we wanted to try it - we were blown away by how good everything is!!! We have had great CM interactions at 50s Prime Time - not just the antics, but really great conversations with CMS.

Hmmm and for some reason, I'm always tempted to order more at 50's. Maybe because it's easier to share appetizer and dessert.

I've never been unhappy with food there, it's diner home style cooking. And maybe the creeping prices have me flashing to Cracker Barrel food and prices ... so it feels too much ... for same thing.

I think when you have been to a place lots of times, the uniqueness wears off so maybe then the prices matter more? I don't know. I would not hesitate to eat at either, I love how they are both highly themed - so much better than most restaurants on property.

We have been to both a few times. We like both but prefer Sci Fi because it seems to take more time getting into Prime Time. Also Prime Time seems more crowded and noisy.

Sci Fi is one of our family "regulars."

I think 50s prime time is really hit or miss. We've been before and had an AMAZING server--we really like the "acting out" (not sure what to call it!) and she was amazing. Months later our three year old was still talking about "our cousin" that we saw in Florida.

But other times we've gone and just had "good service" like we would at any other restaurant. No acting out...which was disappointing.

At Sci-Fi they do have booths too, not just the cars.

They do NOT have booths.

They have cars with 2 and 3 bench seats.

They have a few cars that are tables & chairs with a car front & back at ends like bookends.

They have picnic tables with backless seats across the back normally used for walk ups.

I've been to both. Several times to 50's. My advice would be 50's for sure! We enjoy their food and atmosphere much more. You can't even see your whole family in Sci-Fi.

I totally agree! The theme at SciFi is unbeatable and quite unique. Its one of my faves. I also love how cool and quiet it is. Its one of the quietest restaurants in disney! The food has always been pretty good, as long as you stick to the basics, as mentioned. No steak or pasta. I do like their burgers, fries, milkshakes, onion rings, and the spinach dip with chips. BTW the oreo shake is to die for!

Food at 50's is good too, but i do prefer SciFi for sure. :)

Both have fun atmospheres. Both have video clips (sci fi on a large movie screen vs. 50s sit coms on small black and white tvs above the table). Menus are very different. Sci Fi is basically burger and fries (and other options). 50s has a comfort food diner menu.

I'd go with the menu that has more appeal.
