Sci-Fi or 50's Prime Time?

I asked the same thing when I started planning in August. The majority said 50sPT. The ratings and reviews from various sites were close. Despite it all, we booked an ADR for SciFi. The theming and menu is more to our liking. I don't like to act much with my waiter unless I initiate it, and the menu felt so heavy to me. Besides, no one makes better potroast than my momma, or better meatloaf than my motherinlaw!

I'd settle for either one, if I could get an ADR for it! They're both booked up solid.

We enjoy them both for different reasons. Short answer is Sci-Fi has a great burger and fantastic shakes. I believe I had a malt. The atmosphere is really neat the first time and still fun on a second visit. I'm not sure how interested I would be from here.

You can't beat 50's primetime for the interaction with the servers. I have to say on the right night with the right servers they really work the crowd and get everyone to interact.

Thanks everyone! I decided on 50's prime time for dinner but we will go to Sci Fi for a lunch and shake...thanks for all the input!

This is a tough decision! I love them both, but lean a bit more toward 50's. Love the feel of being in the Beaver's home.

I have read bad reviews about the food at Sci-Fi all over the place. Nevertheless, my husband is so into the theming that we have to try it. And it sounds like you can get a decent burger and fries there. We'll be on DxDp, so what's one meal anyway?

My family has been to both multiple times, and we have finally given up on Sci-Fi because our last couple meals there were horrible, as was the service we received. Prime Time, on the other hand, is a family favorite and we will continue to eat here when we travel to WDW. The theming is great, the portions huge, and the menu comforting. I am a huge fan of the pot roast and the PB&J shake.

My vote is definitely for 50's PT. We had 50's PT on our 2007 trip, and then decided to try Sci-Fi for the first time when we went this past September--no comparison in my opinion. The food was okay, but not nearly as good as 50's PT. Not to mention, to us, the atmosphere just isn't as fun either. We can't wait to go back to 50's on our next trip!!

Never ate at 50s diner, but the the ribs at Sci Fi were disgusting - almost all fat. If I was hungry, I would have sent them back. We were on the dining plan so the cost didn't matter. Stick to burgers and fries and onion rings at Sci Fi and you should be plenty happy.

We want to do both so we are having dinner at 50's and then just milk shakes at sci fi. That way we can do both. We are paying for the milk shakes on our own, but it is worth it just for the atmosphere there.

We ate at the Sci-Fi last November and really enjoyed the experience. The kids got a kick out of sitting in the cars and watching the film clips. I remember the milk shake being quite good with the chili, grilled chicken sandwich and sundae being pretty good as well.

I don't know if I should be bragging or embarrassed that I have most of those B rated horror movies at home.pirate:
