Do you think the sci-fi theatre would be too "scary" for our DD3 & DS2? I've eaten there before we had kids, but would like to hear from other parents if their little ones liked it or not. The kids saw a picture of it and loved the idea of it, but I'm just not sure if they would like it. I can't remember how dark or loud it was.

Thanks!

Our grandchildren didn't find it scary at all, but they tend to be somewhat bold anyway. The clips that are shown aren't very long and they do have a few cartoon bits mixed in. You know your children better than I do, but I wouldn't think there would be a problem with intensity at sci-fi.

You might also ask a CM if you can walk the children through the area prior to dining just to see what they think. If they don't seem to like it, you can just bail.

Have a great trip!

My DS(4) loved it when I took him there in Aug. When we went back in Oct with the whole family he asked to go again. My DD(6) and DD(2-will be 3 on 1/21) both enjoyed it. The 2 year old thought it was SO cool to eat in a car. She liked the film clips but she's the one in the family who loves dinos and anything with big teeth so she got a real kick out of those corny clips. Nothing really too scarry.

The adults got burgers and we all got shakes and had a fun time.

I think it would be a hard place to eat with kids, since its difficult to help them in those cars. The shorter people sit up front (generally) with mom and dad in back. I suppose Dad could eat in back while you sat up front, or you could hope for a car that sits three across, but I'd save this one for when the kids can eat without you needing to help.

I don't think they will find it scary but if mom is in front and dad is in back be preprared for them wanting to climb over the seats mulitple times~!

My almost 3yo was a little leery at first. After we ordered and we waiting on food he kept saying "Mom I want to get out of this town." I just kept playing up the fun of it and showing him the cars and he really enjoyed the overall experience. Our only complaint was it was so cold in there. This was Nov. It was hot outside but the restaurant was really chilly!

We took my girls when they were 2 and had no problem at all. We have our reservations for this trip as well.

We were there last year when my youngest was 15 months and she wasn't fazed by it. It's really not scary. We're going there again this trip and she'll be almost three.
As far as the seating, I'm guessing because we are a family of 5 and used a high chair, we were seated in a car kind of, but it was a regular table and we faced each other. These tables were in the front of the restaurant. Maybe you could request that table setting instead of the other. That would avoid the climbing over and helping the kids problem. :goodvibes

OK -- we took our DS, 7.5, last month and he was SO upset by the clips that we had to eat quickly, get him out, and promise to never take him there again! I would not describe him as overly sensitive, but for some reason those black and white images (and some were, IMHO, overly graphic/gory -- I'm thinking of the undead rising from their graves and that stuff) really freaked him out. I don't know if they always show the same clips or if they've updated, but the "current" set had enough in them that was graphically scary/gory that I personally would not recommend bringing young children.

For me this restaraunt with my two year old was a nightmare. They didn't have a high chair available, it was crowded, so I had her next to me and she thought the car was so great she kept trying to crawl all over it. I could barely eat because I was trying to control her and have her stay in her seat the whole time. Food was okay, not the greatest, loved the deserts.
