How is this restaurant ? I keep reading about it, saw many pictures & that looks cool but how about a little girl ?

The whole trip is for DD5, the food is unimportant but I want her to experience the magic of Disney...

Will we be seated in the front of a car ? think maybe she'll like that...
is it very dark ? how about the movies they play there ?:confused3

It's not that dark. They have lights on at your table. My girls were seven the first time we went and they always want to eat there when we go. It's a burger, fry & shake joint. I would venture too far from that. Have fun.

I booked Sci -fi for our two little girls, ages 5 & 7. It should be great for a child that age. They would love to have their own seat in a car in a dark atmosphere that plays movies.

My DD (who was 3 or 4 when we ate at Sci-Fi) didn't care for it. Too dark, and the movies they were showing were either boring or scary to her. And the air conditioning was turned way up, so we were all frozen before we finished eating.

Our first trip was this past May and we had lunch there one day and it was my 5yo daughter's favorite place. In fact, when I ask her what her favorites parts of WDW she often says "eating at in the cars!" She thought it was the coolest. Some of the movie clips bothered her a bit but then she would stop watching and she's usually a nervous kid but I guess the cars and eating under the "stars" was enough to temper the few "scary" moments. My 2yo son enjoyed it too. My 2yo daughter was having a bad moment there so she didn't enjoy it as much.

My dd was just under 3 last trip (3 weeks away) and my ds was 5 - they both loved it. It is not really dark in there - sort of like being in your house with the lights turned off during the evening when the sun is just going down. I don't think the clips they show would be scary at all - they are back from the b&w days when movies were much mellower than they are now. This was the one restaurant that they have requested that we return to this trip.

We took our DD there when she was 5 and it left such a favorable impression on her that it's on her must do list every time she goes to WDW. She's almost 24 now!
