Just wondering if anyone has eaten here lately? Over the years, I've read good reviews and bad reviews. Our adult kids want to do the Fantasmic dining package. Years ago we did the Fantasmic package with Mama Melrose.

Does this work ok for solo dining?

Do you mean can you dine there as a solo? Sure you can. You might have to book an ADR for 2, but when you check in, just say it will be 1 instead. No issue with that at all. The car rows seat 2, so you’ll be in a car with 1 or 2 other parties, but you’ll be in a row by yourself. It’s fine tho, you really don’t have any interaction with the other party, since you’re all facing the screen.

As a solo you are usually seated in the back row and referred to as a “hitchhiker”… love it as a solo and book it every visit. Lots of fond memories from my childhood!

My DS (20) his friend (21) and I visited in July this past year. We were seated immediately when we checked in and service was fantastic. Burgers were delicious. Would definitely recommend - actually have it booked for trip upcoming in 2 weeks.

We’re a party of 2 & usually we’re seated behind a party of 4. But we have also been in cars with other parties of 2 & been in the front or middle rows.

We ate lunch there a few years ago. Looking at the back of the heads of others in your party would make conversation awkward if you sat in one of those cars. There are regular tables around the perimeter where we sat. If you are there solo, that would be where I would choose to sit, rather than sitting with people you don't know. The food was just average. If you are under the age of 50 or so, the various clips of old TV shows or movies won't mean much. We ate there since there wasn't much else to choose from in that area and we didn't want to walk to the other side of the park just to eat lunch. Probably not a place we would choose again.

As a duo the SciFi dinner is a good choice for us. I really dislike being seated across the table from DH as I feel like we constantly speaking louder than normal just to be heard. We enjoy the food at SciFi. DH likes the wings. We can share a burger without a 'sharing' fee.

Review of yesterday’s meal.

They were about half an hour behind seating.
Server was friendly and efficient. Remembered me from almost a year and a half ago. The servers did some 50s Prime Time level antics with each other which was new to me.
Menu has recently changed. Goodbye pickles. I’ll miss you.
Food was hot. It was basic stuff. But good. I tried the new prime rib sandwich and it was very good. Not best one you’d ever have good. But you’re in a theme park and it beat any expectations good.

It’s ideal for solo dining! You can watch the clips for entertainment, it’s rather dark so you don’t feel like you stand out. People sitting in cars cannot socialize beyond the person they are directly sitting next to so you don’t feel awkward. Honestly, it’s the least awkward solo TS dining situation in a Disney park I have pretty much ever encountered. (That being said, I got a kick out of the old movie clips despite being waaay too young to recognize any of them. If you don’t get a hoot out of old sci-fi clips, this isn’t the place for you [and what are you even doing here LOL].)
