Hi all. Does anyone have any reviews of the Sci Fi Diner. My kids are 17, 13, and 9 and we are wondering if this is a good choice for dinner. Thanks :)))

The food good and is is definately laid back as well as far as a table service meal goes. It's a good first night of vacation meal! We are taking our kids in May and am looking forward to it. I think our four year old will get a kick out of sitting in the car booths and watching film clips drive in style. I think Tweens andcteens would really enjoy it as well:)

I loved Sci Fi Diner - the food was probably overpriced for what it was (although the quality of it was OK), but the atmosphere made up for it. It also didn't hurt that my cocktail was so enormous it had an undertow. :)

We don't have kids, but I would imagine they'd love it. It certainly amused two fairly immature thirty-somethings!

Our teens always have enjoyed it. The atmosphere is so unique & fun that you should at least do it once. The downside is that the food selection is pretty slim and it is pretty expensive, so check out the menu first, the burgers are always good and also the ribs and the onion rings. We do lunch instead of dinner though because it is a little less expensive but you still get the same atmosphere.

I've never had a bad experience at the Sci-Fi! DBFF and I have been there a couple of times and the service and food were all great! We had the simple stuff granted (burgers and fries, shakes), but we enjoyed them! And the atmosphere is really fun! :)

We were there in September. It was okay. It is quieter because everyone is watching the movie screen. I didn't like that it was so dim that I couldn't really see my food as well as I would have liked.

My DD age 26 and self were there in October and really enjoyed it...the atmosphere is so cool.:cool1: :cool1:
The food was a lot better than I expected . We had onion rings, shakes, ribs and chicken sandwich...the only thing we didn't like was the sandwich...it was very dry. The service was excellent...fun place...

Our kids, now in their late 20's, early 30's, still have this as a must do for every trip. They love this place and actually, my husband and I do too. It's not the best food in the World but the atmosphere is so unique.

We were there in Dec for dinner. The food was not good and after over 30 minutes (closer to 45 or longer) of waiting for ADRs the atmosphere was not amusing and the same clips running over and over got real old real quick!

The reviews for lunch have been much better.

i always see people ripping this place, but my family really likes it.

We were just there last month for the first time and we liked it a lot. We went for lunch, but if you are interested in our review check out the second link in my signature.

We thought the atmosphere was fantastic, our server was great, and the food was better than I'd expected.

This was always one of the "must-do" places for our family. Yes, it its a bit expensive now. I remember when lunch there was less than $10. I enjoy it and think it's lots of fun.

One thing is for sure - if you decide not to go there , absolutely do not eat in the ABC Commissary (also at Hollywood Studios). They have the WORST food on Disney property (burgers are nasty). My sis and I are both Disney veterans and we absolutely agree on this. Ok I know I went a bit:offtopic: . Sorry

I think your kids will love it! The atmosphere there can't be beat and the food is pretty good for burgers and fries;)

We go here every trip!!!! Never had a problem. Great food and a really fun experience. A must do for us every time!!!!

This was always a must do for us. My boy's love this place. But since the menu changed a few years ago we don't go anymore. It's a cool place I would go for lunch but I wouldn't waste a dinner unless they change the menu again. Just my opinion.

We dined at Sci-Fi last August. Had a great time and meal. Our server was a peach and noticed my DD and my b-day button. She made a big deal of it, bringing us special desserts and singing happy birthday. My DD was celebrating her 18th. Your family will have a great time. There's a review with pics in my TR...pg 4...post 53.:thumbsup2

We were here for dinner last week and really enjoyed it. My 13-year-old DS thought the atmosphere was pretty cool, and enjoyed eating in the car and watching the movie clips.

DS & I had the bruschetta chicken sandwich, while DH had the steak. Milkshakes were enormous, thick, and absolutely delish. For dessert, DH and DS had huge ice cream sundaes, while I had warm peanut butter cake a la mode. They were happy to substite onion rings (very, very good) for fries at my request. Everything was covered under the dining plan.

Great server here....she was very friendly and attentive. Brought my birthday boy his sundae with a candle in it, sang happy birthday, and gave it to him "on the house" (yes, the dining plan would have covered it anyway, but I thought it was a nice gesture. She was such a sweetie, we made sure to add on enough to her tip to cover the sundae had it been on the bill and the price factored in :) ).

Worst complaint here....they were very busy, and this was the longest wait we had before being seated out of all our ADR's that week. Not that it was an unreasonable wait (maybe 10-15 minutes) but there were a lot of people standing and waiting. One lady claimed to be there more than 1/2 hour.
