Sci-Fi Diner question

I know this place doesn't get the greatest reviews but my kids saw it on tv and really want to go there. I think we'll do lunch there. Any opinions on what is good there would be great.

Also, we have a really large party (11--two families). How do you think they will seat us? I'm asking because I thought I saw on another thread that not all the seats are in the cars. Do they have regular tables also? I just know my kids will be sorely disappointed if we don't get to sit in a car. (I do realize it will take at least two cars to seat us all).

Any advice would be appreciated!! Thanks

My kids love Sci Fi. It is a must on every trip. As far as the seating goes, the cars seat 6 people. I think all the cars were the same size but I could be wrong. I would imagine that they would seat you in two cars. There are regular tables in the back. I always live in fear that we'll get seated in one. The cool car tables is the whole reason my kids love to go there.

They have regular tables (picnic style) in the back. You could probably get two cars as well. I like the food at Sci Fi and it has one of DD's favorite kid's meals (chicken breast, not nuggets!!) I loved the salad I had last year and they have good burgers as well. We couldn't get a car last time but it was still fun.

They could seat you in separate cars if you all wanted to be in cars. My family of 5 fit in one car 2 in the front seat (myself, dd3) and 3 in the backseat (dh, dd8, ds1). My family really like Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater (mostly for the theming). Their hamburgers are good, I had a Reuben sandwhich which was good. Their onion rings are yummy too. I almost forgot, we all liked their shakes.

We've never been to Sci-Fi because we've read so many bad reviews but after seeing these comments, we may give it a try this fall. I'm sure my boys, 7 & 8, will love the atmosphere! I too would like to know if you can wait for a car if they want to seat you at a table?

I like Sci Fi and my dbf LOVES it. Went last summer and will be going again in December. Last time I got a barbecued grilled chicken sandwich with fried angel onions on it. Oh, and popcorn chowder! That was unique- like a corn and veggie chowder with popcorn garnish. And some kind of green specialty drink with glow in the dark ice cubes. Though, I do plan on trying a burger next time, hear they're great. Fantastic, memorable atmosphere- cars, stars, drive in screen, rollerskating CM, the fence w movie posters, just very well themed. Kids will love it.

Some of the cars are two seaters but I believe the car next to us was a three seater. Three in the front, middle and back would seat 9 of your party. The tables in the back appeared very small, though I didn't really pay much attention. Have fun.

The food was certainly good, but talk about expensive! We got 2 children's meals and DW and I split a sandwich platter and it was $47!!! It was fun though.

My suggestion would be to have a burger and a shake. Very good stuff.

We liked it. The atmosphere was really cool. I bet your kids would love it. We had a nice waitress and it was great vegging out watching the movei clips. I totally recommend Sci-Fi.

If you make an early reservation you will have a better chance of getting your group near each other. We always make a PS for when they open-I believe it is either 11:00 or 11:30. That way we are one of the first groups in and always get a great car.
