I've been staying away from Sci-Fi for the last few trips because my understanding was that the food was pretty much horrible, but I've heard that they've made some changes to the menu and the food is much better since the change. Anyone been there recently that would care to offer their thoughts on it?

We eat there just about every year- mostly for the atmosphere but the food isn't bad.

DH and I usually get the shrimp pasta dish. It is huge and pretty good. My boys usually get bacon burgers. The shakes are really good!!! :)

DH and I had lunch there in August. We go every year, but had avoided it up until this past trip (I hadn't eaten there since I was about 14). The reviews kept us away--and DH had no interest.

We loved it. We went in with little to no expectations and it ended up being one of our favorite meals. We had chocolate shakes, buffalo chicken potato skins, and we split the grilled chicken sandwich. It was delicious. The service was great, and it was atmosphere was fun.

It is definitely being added to our "must do" list for lunch.

We have always liked it. It has a fun atmosphere with the old movies and we really love the burgers and shakes. It is on our list again this trip for lunch.

We just went in Sept and loved it. The fried pickles appetizer was amazing!!!

I have learned that if there is a restaurant you want to see, then it's perfectly fine to make an AdR and just get dessert.

It's gotten better. We went in 2008 and swore never to go back. We finally ended up going back around Xmas and the food was fine. We just stuck to burgers and fries and they managed to get that right. I would stick to the basics.

I totally agree with this, but I actually want to eat there for the sake of eating lunch! I find that I pretty much go to Brown Derby every time I go to DHS because the places I've been to have been bad, and the places I haven't been to are so poorly received by the masses, at least food-wise. Trying to branch out this trip!

Thanks for the intel, folks!

We ate there for the first time in December. We slipped in right about the time the park was about to close after seeing the Osborne lights and, much to our pleasant surprise, were able to get a table with no ADR (not sure they make them at closing time, but will still seat you without making you feel rushed at all).

DW and I shared some onion rings (nice horseradish sauce) and a burger, which was great. DD10 got a caesar salad and the turkey sandwich, and both were actually very good. You don't normally expect much from a turkey sandwich, but I was all too happy to chow down on what she did not finish. (Just looked at the menu and didn't see a caesar salad, but quite sure she got one in December.)

DD8 got a burger from the kids menu and it took forever to arrive, so that was quite frustrating, especially given the time of night (9:00) and the starvation of DD8 by that time. They eventually confessed that they had burned it -- ha! But even with that, it seemed to take way too long to cook another kid's burger. However, they gave both girls free ice cream, so in their minds, all was forgiven! Also, they loved the atmosphere and each was issued a driver's license (since we were eating in a car).

We would definitely go there again --

We have been there a few times. We really like the food!!!!. Never had a bad meal.

My faves are the wings, spinach dip, shakes, burgers, and onion rings. Oh and their flavored colas are really good too! They brought the ribs back which is yummy. The atmosphere is so much fun. I would give it a shot at least once.

We ate there in July and we had really good burgers and shakes! Sci Fi actually redeemed TS dining for us at DHS, because all we've had there are "wretched" experiences.

I didn't have a great food experience, but I would still go back. I think that if I had stuck with the burgers and shakes it would have been better after reading reviews. I loved the atmosphere so it's worth another try IMO.

Reviews are tough anyway. I've read sooo many that hate 50s PT and Le Cellier. I have to say those are 2 of my favorites, so you just never know.

My DH LOVES this place! We always get the steak, which in our opinion was just as good as Le'Cellier's lunch steak...:confused3

Atmosphere is also wonderful!

Food isn't wretched at all. It's not great. But it's not bad either. We go there often.

I must have had a bad cook cuz my steak was leather.

The atmosphere us great! The food is mediocre. The steak was the worst steak I'd ever had. Im not exaggerating.

I think if you understand what type of food they are serving, you won't be upset. We were there in August, my dad and sisters had burgers and shakes and all were enjoyed. I wasn't feeling super great so I got the BLT soup with a side of onion rings (hey I wasn't feeling THAT sick... ;)) Both of those were good as well. I think Sci-Fi is more of an experience than anything. The cars are so cute, and the old movies are right up my family's alley, so we had a great time. :thumbsup2

We go every trip. DH does not give much input to ADR's-this is his only request. I think it's bc of the atmosphere- we always order burgers & shakes. They have always been really good. They are not like QS burgers much better. We've had great service every time as well. My boys love getting a drivers license at the end of the meal.

This had turned in to an apps/dessert only place for us our last few trips because we love the theming but aren't crazy for the food, but the new menu is decent and now we don't mind actually eating lunch here :)

Is it still as dirty? When we went it was filthy and I was majorly grossed out. The food was awful as well. I don't know how you can mess up burgers and fries. But they did. This was in June 2010 I believe.
