Hi, any ideas on bringing our 3 yr old twin girls to the Sci-Fi restaurant? Would the movies they show be scary? I know I would LOVE it! We will be taking our 2nd trip as DVC members this jan.

thanks,

I know not much help. They are all the old what I would call B movies. Big spiders, big lizards, big people. UFO's and space creatures seems to be the theme back then in the drive ins. There are some tom and jerry, but the themes really are based back in the 50's when america was enthralled with the alien movies. We love sci-fi and I believe our first trip my DS's were 4 and 7.

Hope this helps. My second choice would be prime-time just make sure you are willing to eat your veggies! :lmao:

DVC members here as well, best investment I ever made!

We took our 3 year-old last year and she wasn't scared. She loved the cars, stars, and movies! It really does depend on the kid, though. A sensitive child might be scared. We've just always told our kids that what they see on tv or in the movies is not real; it's just pretend. So campy monster spiders are silly to them.

The movies would likely be frightening only to very sensitive children who would be disturbed by fake-looking 50's images of giant spiders crawling up buildings or cheesy closeups of someone screaming.

Not scary at all. We ate there with my son several times and never had an issue. Go and enjoy.

The first time we went my DD was 4 and she is scared of everything! But the movies didn't scare her at all. And she is really a wimp. She loved it bc they were movies even though she didn't understand them.

Do all the wait staff still scream in time to the movie? Scared the bejasus out of me the first time I went and they all joined in with the dumb broad on the screen:rotfl2:
The best reply I ever saw from anyone on this subject was that they told their kids that Mickey has magicked everything and Mickey would NEVER magic anything bad or scary! :goodvibes

We were just there a couple weeks ago. My 2 1/2 year old was fine, as was my 5 1/2 year old. Both actually sat and watched the movies. The movies are as cheesey as you can get and very unrealistic which makes it easier for children to differentiate between reality and pretend.

We were there last month with our 3 yr old daughter. She wasn't scared at all. Just a suggestion --Maybe not mention anything to them about anything possibly being scary inside the restaurant, or it may backfire and they will be looking for things they could be scared of! :) I know we didn't tell our kids anything about Sci-Fi, except that you get to eat in a car and it looks like it's nighttime...must've worked b/c they didn't say a word about the movies, except how much they liked that place. :)
