Is this worth it?

We thought we might make this as a quick lunch for MGM day and just get some hamburgers.

How is the food?

Are the cars clean?

Just curious...:)

My Dh had a burger when we were there and he said it was pretty good and their food portions were quite large. The atmosphere is fantastic and it is a good place to get out of the heat for a while. Everytime we have been it seemed clean to us.

I've eaten there twice. The atmosphere is great but the food is only average. Stick with burgers and fries, or onion rings (I haven't had the sundae, but I hear it's spectacular).

The big screen with movie clips are very, very fun to watch. For a snack or a light meal, it's definitely worth it. :thumbsup2

Hope that helps!

I agree with beaniejawa 100%. We have eaten there twice. I have always felt that every one should dine here at least once. It's a lot of fun.

This is a great place for lunch. Sci Fi has decent burgers, shakes and appetizers. Most of all, go for the ambience. My kids love it there.

:goodvibes :goodvibes

The food is yummy. The milkshakes at the Sci-fi are the best I've ever had. You can actually drink them, because they're not very thick. I have had the burgers and a barbecued chicken sandwich. Both were very good. I love watching the old movie clips, too!

The food was average (kind of reminds me of TGIF or a Ruby Tues kind of menu) but the atmosphere makes up for it. The portions are large, and the food was cooked well, but just nothing out of the ordinary. That all being said we are going back to eat there this year because we liked the atmosphere so much.

DH wanted to try this on our trip this fall, but I am afraid the movie clips might scare DD who will be 5. She is kind of a little chicken and most Disney movies even scare her since they all seem to have at least one scary part. What do you think??????

We eat here every single trip. The food is pretty good and the atmosphere is awesome. Most people have never been to a drive in theater so it's even more fun for them.

Thanks for starting this thread! I have a question to add to this....it will just be me, DH, and DD4....Will the 3 of us fit into one of the car seats. I would really like us all to sit in a car, but don't want poor DH sitting by himself??

Has anyone fit 3 people into one of the car seats/bench?

My DD(5) was not a fan of the movie clips and the semi-dark atmosphere. Of course, that's after we dragged her through Pirates & Haunted Mansion. :scared: She's not a big fan of the dark, loud rides either but loves the coasters! Next time it's 50's Primetime for us. I was not at all impressed with the food at Sci-Fi, but it was a must do for our first trip.

wait to try this rest.. We have ADR's for dessert only after Fantasmic.

We really want see what its like inside, and see the movie clips. :thumbsup2

This is a must do for every trip.. Our entire family really enjoys it. I LOVE the onoin rings!!

Is it VERY dark??

we have a DD 5 yrs, who is up for most things and not scared of the dark.

Is it true the waitresses are on rollerskates? that wouold be amazing !

It is pretty dark, but it has to be to see the movie. My family and I ALWAYS stop here, it's part of the "vacation experience" for us. The food is good, not the best at Disney, but good. Some servers do wear skates, not all of them.

...for posting this thread, DBF and I are planning on going here as well as 50's Prime Time, just cause the atmosphere looks so fun! Nice reading the suggestions, look forward to reading more. :cool1:

i didn't know you could make an ADR for dessert only:cool1:

we've ordered the appetizer dip, burgers, steak, chicken breast (didn't like, dry) and the sundaes (yum).

With a small child you could probably do 3 to a seat but to have more elbow room you could use 2 seats...each car has 3 rows so Dh could sit right behind you. There are round tables with umbrellas as well.
