Sci-Fi Dine In Theatre

I would definitely make a reservation for it. It's a popular place at lunch for the burger and onion rings and at both dining times for the atmosphere. Also, if you make a reservation, you are guaranteed to sit in a car.

Because of the seating configuration, it's very difficult to get "squeezed in". Most cars seat six so a family of four will be seated with a family of two, same with a family of three and a family of two. Families of five or six will be seated together. And as the individual groups turn over, the people with reservations can easily be seated almost anywhere.

In most cases you will need a reservation, as is the case for almost all TS places in the parks. You could get lucky if you are at DHS during a slow time, you eat at an off-time or if there was a recent cancelation.

Definitely make a reservation to make sure you sit in a car. I wouldn't bother otherwise. It won't be the same if you're at a regular table.

We have made an ADR and we are a party of 4. I don't mind sharing a car with a party of 2 but whats the chances of them being seated in front of us? My boys really want to sit at the front of the car and I would like them to be able to see the film clips.

Everytime we have eaten here (which is a lot), the parties of 4 sit in the first two seats and the parties of 2 are the "hitchhikers" seated behind the parties of 4. I don't know if that's a rule but it has certainly been the norm for us.

This is one of the places we have always wanted to try, but have never managed to dine at as yet. We have tried snagging a last minute ressie at the door, but have always been unsuccessful. :guilty: For our trip next April, I am definately going to make ADR's. :)

Thats great, thank you very much.:thumbsup2 :goodvibes

I must have been blessed with extra pixie dust :pixiedust: The two times we tried the sci-fi, my dw and I were able to walk up and go in, with no ressies. Of course, it was during weird times in the mid-afternoon!

:woohoo:

When we went last April, we had early reservations (like 5:30-6:00) and the people that walked up were being told that they would have to wait until about 9:30. You should make an ADR. It was well worth it and my kids had a great time. Also, they did put the kids in the front and the party of 2 that we dined with were in the back.

Yes make a reservation. On our last trip we didn't get to do Sci-Fi. We tried to walk-in at lunch time and found out it was full the rest of the day. We were even willing to come back at an odd time like 4:00, but couldn't...full.

Excellent, thank you.:thumbsup2

We made a reservation this time and last time. In summer when we checked in, walk-ups were being turned away totally. Last week, walk-ups were being accepted with little wait. I think it can depend on time of year etc. but if you can, why not try and make an ADR!

I enjoy it there so much. Mum, not so much - so we had an Appetizer each and a drink. Was so much fun!!!

If we are a family of 5, 2 adults, 2 kids ages 6 and 3 and an infant that needs a highchair. Would we be able to still eat there? How would we be seated?

I've seen them take walk-ups, and I've seen them turn away walk-ups. Generally from what I've seen, when they accepted walk-ups, they were seated at the tables in the back and not in a car.

We've never gotten in there without reservations. When we've been there WITH reservations, I've seen just about every person atempting a walk-up turned away.

Make that resy!! :thumbsup2
