Went to lunch at the Sci Fi Dine-In Theater and was not impressed with this venue. I was not disappointed as the food was not bad it was that I was just not impressed with the food.

I had started with the Crispy Onion Rings and they were the high point of the meal. I followed that up with the Angus Chuck Burger. The burger and fries was a step up from fast food but for some reason just did not make an impression

Over all I would recommend this venue for the ambiance. The old sci fi clips was a trip down memory lane.

We are going to go in March 2012 and i want to try it we went into it(March 2010) just to look around and we thought it looked fun. We travel with alot of kids so with all the princess stuff it looks like a good change for the boys in our group. I think we may just do finger foods and shakes to be on the safe side.;)

Agreed. It's wonderful for the ambiance. We were there last week. It was our second time. I loved the atmosphere again, but the food is just so-so. I did try the chili appetizer this time and it was delicious.

We went in April of 2010, and found it to be absolutely wonderful! I love the food, and the atmosphere was wonderful. I ordered the Italian grilled chicken sandwich, and it was very good. We're going back in May 2011, and I've already made two reservations for lunch.

Yep, we just went this fall. It is a lot of fun ambiance-wise, but the food is not that great. Not that bad, but not that great. I would stick with the chicken sandwich, it's one of the better things. The Reuben was horrible.

We LOVE the Sci Fi. The onion rings are definitely one of the highlights, and my burger was pretty good (definitely better than anything at the counter service places). And my DH and our friends all had the reuben and said it was almost as good as the one at The Plaza (which is really awesome).

We paid OOP for Sci-Fi last month, and now I wish we'd been on at least the DDP. We didn't order milkshakes, and didn't get to try dessert. The main course wasn't that great. However, I will always remember how impressed DH and I were as soon as we stepped into that giant drive-in dining room. The decor and atmosphere are definitely worth at least one trip.

I was wondering - could someone tell me how many people can fit in each "car" there? DH and I ate there 10 years ago and I cannot remember - I'm wondering if with our family of 8 (+2 for MIL/FIL) we'll need 2 cars? :lmao:

I believe they hold 6 (three rows); however, they do have other cars that are more "open" where they actually have a table or two for larger parties. But if you all want to sit in a car, I'd just reserve two tables.

Ate at the Sci Fi on January 5, and had another fun experience. Our server was Michael and he was as engaging as could be. Got our drinks around and offered us suggestions from the menu. The first Vanilla Coke went down pretty easy, and he brought me two more, threatening to bring four, if these disappeared too quickly. After taking our orders, he circled back to take a picture and to point out his favorite clip in the loop. "Did you get that ? She says, 'I always dreamed I'd be scared on my wedding night - but never like this' !"

The Grilled Chicken Sandwich was very tasty - fortunately, I had plenty of coke to wash it down with ! Michael kept the kids and the adults entertained throughout the meal. "Ok, if you want a picture of Walt Disney, he's coming up for about 26 seconds." For desert, I enjoyed the cheesecake. Between Michael's dry delivery, the great food, and the cigarette-smoking, toy-car-driving dummy... it was another great night at the drive in !

Just returned and had a party of eight. We had adjacent cars. Six in one, and two as "hitchhikers" in the next car over.

We ate lunch there today, and it was pretty un-enjoyable, there were 3 of use and they put us in a car, two in the front 1 in the middle, then 2 complete strangers in the back, which was awkward, and they served us all at the same time and took our order all at the same time, we were worried they were going to put all of us on the same check, but they did not. our waitress was nice, and really fast with the drink refills, the food was just soso, i had the chicken sandwich and they both had the burgers, the movies were neat but the seating situation was terrible, i dont think we will go back, AND we had a ADR, and people that arrived to the dinner before us did not BUT got seated before us!!! over all a let down.

The Amazing Colossal Man is up there.I think they should have an MST3K sequence. That would be great.I know you at least see a segment of Robot Monster and I think Frankenstein Meets the Spacemonster was one of them.

we loved it here..the kids and I ordered burgers and the hubby ordered a chicken cream pasta dish..we all were happy, its must for us next time. sorry u did not enjoy it..we went into it knowing it was not going to be gourmet but just burgers..

The fun ambiance is definitely the reason to eat here. The food is mostly just okay except the peanut butter chocolate cake is to die for!

I made an ADR for lunch in May. I am glad to hear that the hamburgers are good which my family will order. Is the chicken sandwich grilled? How is the cheescake @ Sci Fi.

We ate here..it wasn't bad but I can't understand why I would want to give up a TS credit when there are soooo many better restaurants to choose from!:confused3

My DD8 LOVES this place.....1st place she asked to eat this upcoming trip.

I found onion rings to be really good....and the shake was great!

Does anyone know if they serve vege burgers here...i fear the red meat? :lmao:
