Sci-Fi Dine in Theater at Disney-MGM

I'm also wondering about burgers at dinner at Sci Fi. If they're not available at dinner, we may switch our ADRs to go there for lunch and do 50s Prime Time for dinner.

Normally if you ask at dinner they will let you order the burgers. The atmosphere is fun, the food, meh! The shakes are good though.

While we would have been in no hurry to return anyway there is a family fun place called IT'Z and they have a dining room set up sorta the same way, so I think well be avoiding Sci-Fi from now on.

Still worth checking out for yourseld though, and the Ed Wood clips cracked me up (no one else in the place understood what I was even talking about).

Our group of four adults and four children ate at Sci Fi last Friday and it was fun. Kind of between a sit down meal and a counter meal. My son asked for a grilled cheese sandwich (not on the menu) and the server happily complied.
Our bill was:

1 diet coke 2.29
1 gls wine 7.00
1 tomato soup 1.75
1 house salad 5.49
3 iced tea 6.87
2 chicken sandw 13.99 each
1 shrimp penne 18.99
1 beef and blue salad 14.99

our bill was 143.10 before tip

It is the one place our kids asked to go back to again. This after eating at Coral Reef/Teppan Edo/Mama Melrose, etc.

This might seem like a dumb question but this is our first time on the dining plan and I am just wondering if the milkshakes are included as your beverage?

I'm not sure. We were not on the dining plan (but will be next year!).

I think this is a fun place. Not outstanding food, but not too pricey and good to get out of the heat and have some entertainment for the kids.

BUT - I called about 5 days into my ADR window for my upcoming trip in June and tried to get a lunch reservation for anytime on Friday June 12 and there was nothing available. The CM told me that the restaurant was very very popular. I was shocked that the ADRs were sold out so far in advance. I expect that for Chef Mickey or Le Cellier, but not Sci Fi!

Our 3 and 4 year old grandchildren were frightened by the movies. They didn't even eat, they just sat fascinated by the screen and told us later they thought it was too scary. There are giant spiders and all the old scifi favorites and if your children aren't afraid of these things they will be okay, but ours don't even want to do Haunted Mansion and do not like scary attractions.

Definately make ADRs. This is not Disney's best restaurant for food, but its very popular. Guests getting in as walkups usually have a long wait and seldom get to sit in a car (which is the fun).

Thats all great to know. We are all Sci Fi and B movie fans here, love Mystery Science Theater, so I'm hoping it will be fun. My son will be just shy of three. Lunch it is then! Thank you!

I was reminded of Mystery Science Theater when I was there, as the waiters screamed out comments and such to movies and it was quite funny.

Do they still do this? I went last in 2001.
