Has anyone ever eaten there, it looks a lot of fun! What was it like, the cost, did you call for priority seating?

It was a lot of fun! We're going back this August! The atmosphere is really cute and it does feel like you're in a drive in!

We did make an ADR last time, and we've got one this time as well, both times for lunch at 12.10! Both made at 180 days out just in case.

I'd stick to the simple food: burger and milkshake, those are the things they seem to do best.

My family (wife and 9 month old daughter at the time) ate there in Dec. 2007. We were there before it gets really busy and there was still quite a wait for guests without reservations. I had made mine the day before and didn't have any trouble getting a decent time.

The food is pretty good, but if you're looking for a gourmet meal you probably wouldn't be asking about the Sci-fi theatre. If you're taking kids I think they'll have a great time with the decor and campy old movies.

We have gone once and I am really not a big fan. Food was ok and our service was not good at all. I actually called the manager when we got back from to hotel to tell him how poor our service was.

I really enjoyed 50's Prime Time more.

I also love 50s Prime Time! Especially the Pot Roast!!

I would personally do Sci-Fi for lunch and treat it as a kind of counter service meal, ie. just get burgers and shakes and enjoy the ambience of the restaurant!

It's just ok with me but DH and the kids love it. We usually have lunch there.

Stick with burgers, fries or onion rings (those are really yummy!) and they make a good shake.

The old movie clips are kinda fun, though. I think DH likes it because as an old horror/sci fi movie film buff he knows most of the movies. :rotfl:

I'm still on the fence with this restaurant too. I'm debating Sci-Fi along with 50's PrimeTime. Any thoughts?:confused3

we love both sci-fi and 50s - musts for every trip!

prefer sci-fi for lunch (burgers, fries, shakes) - baby boomers here, grew up with drive-in movies, love the "sitting in car watching movie trailers" thing!

dinner is better at 50s - DH raves about the pot roast and brownie sundae he always gets (me, i like the chicken noodle soup) - and those TV sets with the black & white 50s sitcoms - genius! (try to get auntie claire as your server - she's the best of them all!)

I'm planning ADR's for our nights and I have one more restaurant to pick. I'm leaning on Sci-Fi for 50's Prime Time, but I can't decide which one!:confused3

We enjoyed Sci Fi last year wasn't impressed with the shrimp dish but the others had steak and liked it, my milkshake was out of this world. The service was GREAT couldn't have had better. Atmosphere is awesome! We plan on doing it again next year!!

Thats all great to know. We are all Sci Fi and B movie fans here, love Mystery Science Theater, so I'm hoping it will be fun. My son will be just shy of three. Lunch it is then! Thank you!

I usually get the ribs and I have liked them. My husband got the burger. We thought it was fine. The atmosphere is great and fun!

I agree about the burgers and shakes for lunch.:thumbsup2

Just want to add that when we were there last August they were turning away people in droves. We were there at 1:00pm and they were telling everyone that they had no openings for the whole day - and it was evening EMH! So, definitely secure an ADR to be on the safe side.

Definately make ADRs. This is not Disney's best restaurant for food, but its very popular. Guests getting in as walkups usually have a long wait and seldom get to sit in a car (which is the fun).

We were there last week and it was our least favorite place we ate at. We were so bummed because we thought it was going to be such a cool place. Our server was not very sociable and couldn't speak good english, so it very difficult to understand him. Our food was not good at all (I got ribs, DH got The Reuben) we have eaten much better at other places. Our dishes were close to 20 bucks each plus kids meals and drinks...we were on the DDP.

We won't return to this place...Our favorite meal of this trip was Coral Reef!!!

We ate there 2 years ago and made a prioriy seating for this summer. It was fun a little cheeper than character dining. Food was pretty good.
