So we ate at SciFi during SWW at the Empire breakfast (or whatever it was called, with DV and storm troopers, etc).

The food was PHENOMENAL. One of the best meals we had that trip, it was so so good. We all ordered different things, but tried it all and each was as good as the last.

Is it not normally like that? I realize the characters aren't always there (though they should be that was fun!). But is the food normally just boring, basic breakfast and so-so? Reading some reviews, I'm wondering if we should ever go again if it's just the novelty of the cars and the food isn't as great. That would make me sad.

Sci-Fi Dine In doesn't serve breakfast normally -just lunch and dinner (except for the special themed SW weekend breakfast you went to).

(Lunch I've done there: I do like the food, but I'm no foodie so my opinion isn't worth much. I like the theming alot - can't get that outside of WDW - so whether the food is great or not isn't that important to me.)

You can look at the lunch and dinner menus, with prices, at allears.net. HTH

It sounds like you had an unusually extraordinary meal for this establishment, then! Because normally, the lunches and dinners are at well..."diner" level! Which isn't bad at all for me actually! I think the food is solid here though not spectacular. It's certainly not "bad", like say, a Tony's Town Square. It's good or average depending on what your palette and expectations are. I always enjoy it.

The theming is the thing here, of course. Lunch is probably a better choice to meet your expectations than dinner. I'll say this, if you think the food is good at your typical Disney counter-top Pecos Bill or Cosmic Rays or whatever, you should enjoy the Sci-fi Dine-in's food just fine.

We've only eaten there a couple of times, but enjoyed it very much. The chicken wings were outstanding and their wait service was outstanding. We will definitely be going back ASAP!
