My wife and I want to eat there but we see photos and it looks like a couple could be put in the same care with us, sitting directly behind or in front of us, which is VERY close.

Do they keep one couple per car or how do they do it?

If they are going to put a couple behind us as close as the photos show, I think Im going to pass.

My mom and I were seated in the very back seat of a car with another family. It wasn't too close at all...in fact, we had fun talking with the family--they were from Georgia and we're from California--we had fun talking about our visit, comparing WDW to DL, etc.

I would say, go for it! :thumbsup2

We had a large group. 6 in one car and 5 in another. I'm not sure if they had 2 seaters or not. I would think so. They have so many different styles. I would call the dining line and ask if I were you. If your trip is still a ways off I bet they could accomidate you. It was really neat. We scheduled our dining time right after the Stars and Motorcars Parade and were able to get a good view of that and then go in and eat. Good luck.

Yes if it's crowded you could be put in the same car with someone else. It's not too close though. My 3 kids sat in front of DH and I and we couldn't hear them and they couldn't hear us unless I got their attention and leaned forward.
I would go if it were just DH and I. Lunch there is very good and the atmosphere is fun! It's up to you though..whatever you choose HAVE FUN!!!

My husband and I always get seated with another family. Like everyone says, just have fun with it.

Last time a youngster was in the driver's seat (there's no steering wheel, but he was sitting where the driver in a car normally sits), so we all had fun joking about that.

Yes, we got seated behind another couple. It isn't bad though. You don't have to talk to them if you don't want to...I mean it isn't THAT close (you can't even hear each other very well)...we didn't talk to those in front of us...not that we are unsociable or anything! :rotfl:

You are one behind the other but really it isn't bad. We are a family of 4 and we get split with a 2/2 or a 2/2/2 car. You don't get to have converstation with the family members in front or behind you though because it really does feel like they are far apart. When we have another family in the front or back I don't notice it at all. It really isn't bad.

I wouldn't let this deter you from going. The atmosphere is fun. I always love dining at the Sci Fi.

Don't let it deter you, it really isn't that close, it's like how there are people in front of you in a movie theatre ,but you really don't notice them....you could turn around and talk if you wanted to, but it is still far enough away that you you might not even notice....My family of 6 was in the front 2 rows of a car and a young couple was seated in the last row of our car...I didn't even know they were there until we got up to go....

My husband and I were in the back seat of a car with a family of four in front of us (mom and daughter in one seat, dad and son in the other). We couldn't even hear their conversation. In fact, we might have annoyed them because I was laughing so hard at the stupid movie trailers. I wouldn't let the seating arrangements deter you at all. In fact, it was quite cozy being in the back seat of a car with my husband at a drive in theatre.

As everyone has pointed out already, don't worry about this at all. We had a couple of Japanese girls sitting in the back of our car, and it was no problem. They were having a great time watching the trailers and laughing, and it did not disturb us at all.
