Hey fellow dis-ers, I currently have a lunch ressie for sci-fi dine in, but am wondering if I should just cancel it and go to Starring Rolls for a CS meal instead. We would mostly be going to the sci-fi for the ambiance anyways. I've heard horrible things about the food and we were planning on paying OOP and just getting an appetizer and burgers. But then I saw this DELICIOUS looking photo of a ham sandwich and cupcake from Starring Rolls and started to question my decision to eat at Sci-Fi :rolleyes1 Anyone have any advice for me?
Thanks in advance! :lovestruc

Well I've never been to starring rolls so i can't speak for it- but i LOVE sci fi. Been for lunch a dozen times and never had a bite of something i didnt like there.
i'd prob see how i felt in the heat of the day. You coudl very well want to do table service, but if you decided to just counter it up cuz you don't feel like sitting, just walk by a party of your size waiting to get in at sci fi, give em your name and they'll be VERY grateful :)

Starring Rolls is a small counter serve restaurant, It sell pre-made sandwiches not a very large choice, maybe 3 or 4 different kinds. The sandwiches are very good, yummy baked goods. It has outdoor seating. Probably the best counter serve at DS.

I do enjoy Sci Fi as long as you keep it simple burgers and fries. A cool spot on a hot day.

Starring Rolls is really good, but Sci Fi has great food, great ambiance, and great inside air-conditioning. I am usually never cold; however, the air at Sci Fi has usually froze me out. But, it was great to escape the hot day at DHS.

I think I would go to Starring Rolls and skip Sci Fi. We ate at Sci Fi last week. It is neat inside but I didn't like not being able to talk to DS the whole meal. We shared an appetizer and he had to turn around to eat some of it. We got burgers and sandwiches and I think it was over $60 for three of us using the TIW card. Basically CS food as TS prices.

Something else to consider about Starring Rolls is the sandwiches are first come, first served and when they're gone, they're gone. Also, they close by 4pm. But, the food is really yummy :)

We were just at Sci Fi last week, fabulous food and fabulous experience! I loved the Beef and Blue salad and my family loved the burgers! We have never had a bad experience at Sci Fi!

We love Sci-Fi! The food isn't gourmet, but we've had good meals there the last two trips and we adore the atmosphere. Both times I had the beef and blue salad and DH had the turkey sandwich. We both enjoyed our meals. We skipped dessert there and headed over to Starring Rolls for a cupcake afterwards -- yum!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Depends on what you like.

I have done both and while you are getting mainly the atmosphere at Sci-Fi, the food wasn't bad at either of them.

If you go to Starring Rolls, as another poster said it is first come first served. When we were there they had nothing for a vegetarian (sandwiches available were turkey and ham).

Thanks for the advice everyone! I am thinking that we will have to keep the sci-fi ressie and either split a meal at starring rolls later in the afternoon or just go for dessert :goodvibes

We LOVE Sci-Fi!!! This time we're doing Sci-Fi for lunch and then hitting Starring Roles for a cupcake snack later in the day. Best of both worlds!! :thumbsup2

I've never eaten at Starring Rolls, but SFDIT is one of my favorites at MG--I mean, Disney's Hollywood Studios. The shrimp penne pasta is delish! Hope you enjoy! :)

I definitely think that you will like the Sci-fi. The food is good (not outstanding) and that atmosphere is unlike anything else. We hit it every time to go!
