Sci-Fi Dine in just for milkshakes?

We're on the QSDP this summer as part of our FD package, so won't be booking lots of ADRs... I've heard great things about the milkshakes at Sci-Fi Dine in, and would love to try them, but won't necessarily want a full meal there.

I know they say it's OK to order whatever when you're paying OOP, but do they ever get funny about it if you're not having a full meal? I don't want to be in an awkward situation with it (but I really want to try those milkshakes and the theming looks fun to two sci-fi nerds and this is the nearest I'll ever get to a drive in cinema!!)

We do this every time we visit WDW. We only go for the milkshakes. Sometimes we also order fries and/or onion rings but not always. We have never had a problem with doing this.

Nothing wrong with ordering just shakes...and an appetizer too if you want. The food is good. I love the spinach dip, chicken wings, and yes the onion rings too! mmmmm.

EDIT: I forgot to add, the oreo shakes are absolutely TO DIE FOR!

There is a bar on the left side attached to the restaurant and you can order Shakes from there and not actually have to go to the dining room, if you prefer.

Most of the year probably fine if you arrive early or late but I wouldn't want to make the day less magical for a family that didn't have somewhere to have a meal.

All of us have seen that shell shocked family that didn't know about reservations or assumed with the DDP they could walk in anywhere.

Yes you can walk right in and order a shake from the bar...or at least I could a couple of years ago...again I am talking Prime Time and not Sci Fi. PT also has a famous PB&J shake that gets rave reviews on the DIS but one that doesn't interest me. I beleive the shakes at PT are also hand-dipped not sure about Sci Fi.

The shakes at Sci Fi are handmade too. If I wanted only milkshakes, I'd probably opt to drop in Prime Time and get one to go, rather than make an ADR and take the time to go in and sit down at Sci Fi. They're likely made with the same ingredients anyhow. But you definitely can do that without a problem.

Nope---- they have a seasonal specialty shake that is amazing !!! I've had pumpkin pie, Apple pie, candy cane, key lime pie, red velvet--- just to name a few. Always great !!
