It was great! Most of the "tables" are cars, so you have a pretty good shot of getting one to eat in. The other types of seating are cars where the seats actually go around the perimeter of the car (versus front and back like a regular car - I think this is for families where the parents want to be able to see what the children are doing) and the other types of seating are like outdoor cafe tables in the back. But most of them are cars.

My b/f got the catfish sandwich, and I got the bbq chicken sandwich. No, the food isn't out of this world, but it's good. The atmosphere is the real reason you go there. And in all honesty, it's the perfect kind of food for kids and teens! Be sure to get the sundae!! They put M&M's in it, and it is SOOOOOOOO good!

The Sci-fi is a must for us on every trip! A couple times I have seen people turned away that did not have a PS.

This is the one thing my DS10 asked to do. So I'm really glad to hear it's good and fun!!

I'm glad we tried it out, as I have been reaidng about it for ages, but I wasn't impressed.

The food was average, at best, as well as overpriced.

I won't go back.

(And I do like ALOT of Disney restaurants.....this is the only one, so far, that I have no desire ever to eat in again)

we have eaten there our last 2 trips and had a fantastic time. i especially enjoyed the movie clips because i had seen almost all of the clips in their full movie form. this next trip when we were planning the first place everyone wanted to go to was Sci-Fi. surroundings and food were great.

what pleased me the most was on our last trip my DS#2 who does not like any kind of sauce on his chicken orderded his lunch and the chicken had a sauce on it. he really didnt raise a fuss because i just told him to order something else. when the waiter came over to our table and asked what happened we told him and within minutes a new platter of food arrived for him made the way he liked it. what else could you ask for in a resturant. after eating and thanking him very much i asked to speak to the manager. we told her about how great we were treated and the waiter should be commended for the most wonderful care he gave to us. the manager told us that she wished more people would speak up when they are very happy with their service.

a potentially disastrous lunchtime episode ,made perfect by a great waiter.

i dont remember his name but i do remember he was from vietnam. hopefully he will still be there this july

BTW: do get a PS. it will definitl cut your wait time way way down. we only waitied 15 minutes to be seated while i overheard a CM telling a non PS guest that the wait would be almost an hour at best

Sci-Fi is an absolute must do on every trip. Lunch prices are fair for disney and considering what you get (atmosphere, etc.) I do not think it is overpriced. During the summer it is one of the best places to get out of the sun and the heat. One bit of advice-it tends to get rather cold in the "Drive Inn" and I have needed a light jacket or sweater everytime I have been, even in summer.

Is all the seating in "cars"? I thought I read somewhere once that it had to be requested??

We sat in a car. We had a lunch PS. Didn't request ahead of time, but asked at the podium, and told them we were willing to wait a little extra if needed. Wasn't necc. to wait, we were shown straight in.

Movie clips were fun. My DH runs a comic book/Sci-fi store so he really was the driving force for this choice of restaurant.

Food was pretty good. We all had cheeseburgers, fries, and a milkshake. That being said, when we were picking our food for this trip, no one called it as a place to go back to.
