Okay, I don't think I've seen this addressed before, so hopefully someone can answer. :goodvibes

We haven't been to Sci Fi since 1999 and are thinking about going again during our Christmas trip. I know about the food reviews and such, but I'm wondering if I can request one of the tables or picnic benches instead of the cars. :confused3 I know it's cooler to sit in the cars, but since our last visit, DS has grown over a foot and it really would not be comfortable with 3 in one seat and none of us really want to have one of us seated alone either in front of or behind the other two. So, has anyone requested one of the tables, picnic benches or whatever the other table seating (with the umbrella)? If so, did you do so when you made your ADR or at the hostess stand?

Thanks for any suggestions ya'll can give! :grouphug:

I'm sure you can ask for it to be noted on your AR, but sometimes that doesn't get to the hostesses, so just ask again when you get there. More than likely, it won't be a problem since the cars are the most popular seats there.

Everytime we have dined here, the only option without a PS is the flying saucer tables or the picnic tables. I think you'll have no problem making the PS, then letting the host or hostess know you'd rather have the tables rather than the cars.

Have fun!

I agree with Poohnatic's advice. The tables you want are usually the least desired tables - I'd still check in a few minutes early (say, 15) to let them know, but you will likely get in more quickly if you take a saucer over a car.

Good luck!

Thanks folks! I know it sounds like a silly request, but we like to sit together as a family and the cars have been the only thing keeping us out of Sci Fi for the last 6 years...little did I know about the other seating options until I read it here. As a follow up...anyone know if you can still view the big screen easy enough?

Thanks again!

We just dined there a couple of weeks ago without a PS at lunch time. We are a family of 4 and were given a "super stretch" limo table. That is a car front and back, with two separate tables in the middle able to sit 4 each.

You are facing sideways, but can easily still view the movie screen. Lots of fun there and relaxing on a very hot day!

When I ae there last summer we were seated at a car that was one table for six, with three chairs on each side. It worked great for us, because we had plenty of room to strech out, but we were right in the middle of the room so we had a great view of the screen. We had the table to ourselves and were not seated with another family.
