Have 11:30 Sci Fi lunch and 5:40 Mama Melrose dinner reserved for same day. Will this be too much food? We usually have one big meal in the day. Should we opt for Backlot for dinner instead? We aren't staying for fantastic because DD is 4 and need her bedtime! Might do star wars fireworks if they are 7:45.

I dont feel SCi-Fi lunches are super heavy...depends on what you get. I usually get a turkey sandwich! Youd be out of there by 12:30, so 5.5 hours (assuming by the time you are seated, order and get your food it would be closer to 6) isnt really unreasonable, but if you dont usually eat a lot to begin with, maybe save the TS credit or $$ and get QS. I dont know!! Tough call!

We don't do TS for lunch and dinner. It just seems too much time sitting down at tables, especially if you are not big eaters. We love the sandwiches and fruit at Starring Rolls in DHS.

I dont think its too much food. There's a 5+ hour gap between both meals. I think you'll be fine! If you had a buffet at lunch that would be a different story. But at scifi you should be ok. :)

I love Sci-Fi's atmosphere, but the food is gross to meh. We have resolved in the future to treat it like a snack. Order a couple apps, or split a meal and a drink, and you will be fine. I just had a delicious dinner at MM, so I would prioritize the food there.

I would keep both, but agree with everyone about maybe splitting a few apps and a sandwich at Sci Fi. If you get to Mama Melrose and aren't really hungry, you can always share a flatbread and one of the other meals. You don't have anything to lose since you are paying OOP - just order what you want to eat :)

It's not too much food and your timing is good. We were on the DxDDP and split a TS for lunch (shared wings, the steak with fries subbed for veggies for the kiddo and I had the potato side) and each had a shake (one for drink one for dessert) and we were just the right hungry for our 5pm CA Grill ADR, which we each used 2TS and ate almost all of it. So go light at Sci Fi (apps and shakes or split things) and you'll be plenty hungry for dinner.

We split the Reuben and fries, order a side of the cucumber salad, and split a shake. It s just the right amount of food, and the price is right too. Most people who say the food is not good seem to be people ordering expensive entrees because they are on the dining plan. Have fun, and watch out for the love bug. ;-)
(Not the Florida spring flying bug, but something you will see on the screen.:love2:)

It doesn't have to be too much food unless you want it to be, but ADRs do take a lot longer than QS. I would expect those two ADRs to eat at least three hours out of your day. SciFi is notorious for long waits before being seated, too.

My older DD really wants to eat at Sci-Fi, but we're a family of vegetarians and there isn't a lot on the menu that sounds great for us. I'm thinking of going just for apps & milkshakes, as an afternoon break from the heat.
