Do you use Schwan's Home Delivery?

What do you think of the quality of the food and the price? What are your favorites?

I've ordered a few things from Schwan's. The green bean fries are very good, as are the stuffed chicken breasts. Some items seem reasonably priced, others seem ridiculously overpriced.

But I love the convenience of having a freezer full delivered right to my door.

So, is it worth it?

Love the Schwann's man and the food is very good. Way too expensive for me, I have to cook more by scratch now... Make sure to check sodium levels though!! I would love an orange push up right now!

I love my Schwann's man and I always try to buy SOMETHING when he comes. I love their orange sherbert and key lime pie. My son loves the chicken wings. They aren't cheap but most things are reasonable for what you get. I usually only spend $10-$20 each time (every other week) so I just budget for it.

We used to have Schwan's delivered several years ago but it just got too expensive. I loved their Triple Lemon Frozen Yogurt (seasonal) and DH was a big fan of their Blackened Chicken Alfredo with Fettucini Noodles.

Darn it. Now I'm hungry!

Im another one who thinks they ae just too exensive. We can eat a nice dinner at a restaurant for what we'd spend at Schwans - and I wouldn't have to cook that meal.

Their food tastes good, but just not worth the price to me. If you have the extra money to spend on it and like the conveniece then I say go for it.

We love Schwan's! While some things are expensive, some aren't that bad. DH loves their salmon and since he's the only one in this house who'll eat it, a box lasts a looong time. We always get the chicken breasts, love that they're individually wrapped. I can get 3 meals out of those. Plus we always get the chicken strips, can get 2 meals out of that. Really if you can get more than one meal out of the items, the price isn't bad. And they have good specials. This week I had coupons and with their sale I got $50 worth of food for $20!:)

I love Schwan's, I have to be cautious tho because of sodium content but we get a few things from our guy. Chicken Bites, the girls love them, cheese stuffed breadsticks, their lemon chicken is good, and of course the ice creams. :) I rarely spend more than $30 a month with them but what I do get we do use and enjoy.

I used them years ago, until the delivery guy got mad that I was only purchasing a few items a week and cursed me out. I was about to call the police so he left. I called the main office and they didn't seem to think their driver did anything wrong. I won't buy from them ever again.

My schwans man completely creeps me out. The food has all been good, but I would say all is expensive for what it is. We love the Chicken Kiev. The vegetables are all good. I like Breyers Ice cream better.

The Mozzerella sticks are AWESOME I haven't bought from them for years but everytime I see the Yellow truck I want those CHEESE STICKS yummmmm I guess I need to find the yellow truck and get some they are great on a hot summer day with a nice tuna sandwich... easy dinner and of course the ice cream is to die for also

I forgot about the Mozzarella sticks, the kids love these! We didn't care for the ice cream though. I usually only buy Breyers.

The popcorn chicken and the corn(loose not on the cob) were our favorites, unfortunately Schwanns is not in the budget right now, and I haven't found a good, cheap replacement for either

I agree, I would rather go out! Some of the pre-made meals are higher in sodium and fat than I would like as well. I would like to buy occassionally but my Schwann's man said if I didn't order monthly he didn't want to waste his time coming, so I told him fine, don't stop anymore.:confused3 I was a little upset because two months before I bought $100 and the 3 before that $40-60. I guess he's used to bigger orders.

I am picky about HFCS and trans fats so I don't order from them anymore. Some of their items are convenient, but not very healthy and way too expensive.

We use Schwann's and typically do not spend much. Our rep is a really great guy and not pushy at all. We typically get the individual frozen deep dish pizzas. They are perfect for a quick lunch and just the right size. We also like the sugar free fudge pops, the regular ice cream sandwiches and the frozen pretzels.

I use to use schwann...Untill my route driver told me my day off was not a good day for him to deliver on.......So my money goes to a grocery store...and they do take cupons at the grocery store:thumbsup2

Where we lived previously, our Schwan's man got snippy with me when I didn't buy enough from him so I told him not to waste our time stopping by anymore. I thought the food was overpriced anyway.

For those who like the pizza, it's the same as Red Baron in the grocery store. The first time I bought them I thought, this tastes like pizza I've had before. Look on the label and it says Schwan's. :thumbsup2

We love Schwans here at our house....love their battered fish, chicken, veggies, pizzas and desserts.....in addition not only is Red Baron owned by Schwans but Freschetta, Tony's, Mrs. Smith's, Edwards, and Asian Sensations are other Schwans owned brands that you can find in your grocery store.

And I still love it! It is very convenient for us and it cuts down on costs because I have food on hand - it keeps us out of fast food!

Here are some of our regular purchases: green beans, individual deep dish cheese pizzas (same as Red Baron, yes, but it is much more expensive at the grocery store unless it's on sale), quick bake french fries, Sauce in Seconds (alfredo), Chocolate-chocolate-chip muffin pucks, blueberry muffin pucks, mixed vegetables, oven roasted chicken bites, popcorn shrimp, breaded chicken bites, philly beef, and garlic mashed potatoes.

Schwan's is not our sole source of groceries. I still use our local Harris Teeter (that doubles and sometimes triples coupons) and Aldi's.

These were two favorites in my house! I stopped buying about a year ago. I liked the convenience, but I was spending too much and found I felt I HAD to buy because the delivery guy was so nice. I sent DH out to tell him we'd call if we needed anything. I didn't have the heart to do it! :guilty:
