Schwann's question

Wasn't sure if I should post this here or the cooking, crafting and scrapping portion of the board. Does anyone order from Schwann's? How is the quality of the food? What are some of your favorite items they sell? DH and I are thinking about placing an order with them. Wanted some feeback before we did. Thanks in advance.

Some of the BEST ice cream out there and we like a few other items. They seem to cost a little extra BUT you dont have to go to the store to get it and it is all easy to prepare .We are having the salmon dinner tonight it is new so we will see how it is.

We order from Schwans. I've loved everything we've gotten. Our usual order includes their Burgundy Peppercorn Beef Sirloin roast, it is really tender, and Terriyaki chicken breasts. We've also had their Chicken breast meat for fajitas, Lemon Pepper chicken breasts, Filet Mignon, Hash Browns, Mixed veggies, French toast sticks and a few different desserts. We've been very happy with the quality of their food. Most of their meats are very lean and I love the ease of having things delivered. Hope this helps.

We just ordered a couple weeks ago for the first and last time. I did not find anything special about their products and actually feel the quality of Marke Day to be better and the prices were better with MD also.

Their ice cream was okay but there is not a full half gallon, it is only 1.75 qts. How is that for chintzy? It is also about 5 bucks a container. I will stick with the stores and Market Day where my dollar does some good as well.

I LOVE them. I know they are a little pricey but the food is GOOOOOOOD. My favorite is beef tips & gravey. As for their ice cream...I'm drooling right now just thinking about it. In the summer, they have Summer's Dream. Oh, that's SO good. It's orange-cream. They use to have one they carried during the holidays called Pink Divinity. It was just as the name says, pink divinity with some peacons in it. Man, it was great! I wish they still sold that.

Their frozen vegitables are also good...I like the corn. Then they have several frozen meals that are so easy to prepare but they taste homemade, not like normal frozen foods. I really like them, and now I think I'm gonna go order some food from them

Well the salmon dinner was very good. It was just enough for the two of us.
As for the ice cream being 1.75 qt. alas many manufacturersare pulling the same thing, as for us we think it is very good ice cream so we keep buying it. Also some of the regular flavors are still 2 qt. for the same price

and I love the burgandy and peppercorn roast.....it is so tender and melts in my mouth..delicious......also the kids love ONLY schwans corn dogs....the others I have purchased the kids new the difference.....I have also enjoyed the other items I have purchased.....except the new (blahhhhhhh) pot stickers.....I am a very good judge of GOOD potstickers and they had better discontinue that.....
