Schulas and Bluezoo ok for kids

I would like to try schulas and bluezoo on our next trip. Are they ok for kids 6 and 8. I know they provide 2 hours free child care at camp dolphin, but our disney trips are about family time, and my 8 year old loves eating out. We have eaten at a lot of disney signatures and of course they are always full of kids. Just wondering if I will feel out of place bringing my kids to these restaurants.

I've never been to Shula's, so I don't know about that, but I have seen kids at BlueZoo. It's a little more adult than the Disney Signatures, but kids are welcome. They even have a kids menu. Shula's does not.

Shula's specifically states on their website that kids are welcome...at CAMP DOLPHIN. They do not want kids in the dining room there. They discourage it openly.

I've seen kids at Bluezoo. I'd not bring MY kids there, though. Both these restaurants are WAY above any of the Disney "Signature" places. These are high class establishments. Dinner takes about 2 hours, at least.

Save these as "date night" places. If this vacation is all about family time, stick with family restaurants.

I saw one child at bluezoo when we dined there 2 months ago; I don't think I noticed any the time before. The Swan/Dolphin restaurants, in my experience, are geared more for adults and are more upscale than Disney's restaurants (and certainly quieter which is why we go) but if your children want to go to a nice dinner, nobody is going to stare at them or make you feel out of place.

I have brought my kids to Blue Zoo several times without issue.
As long as they are behaved and stay in their seats they are fine.

There is always a kid or two there.
BTW: They have a kids menu

Just be fair to the other diners.
If your kids are going to be kids and make a lot of noise they really should not be there.
If they start acting up remove them.

I would not bring a kid to Shula's and if the other poster is correct then they are not allowed anyway.

Thanks I think we will choose one and take adantage of the free child care at camp dolphin then. We ate at disney signatures every night on our last trip, but they are more like upscale family restaurants. I would like to go to jellly rolls for a martini so maybe we will have a date night.

Just as an FYI - The Maytag Martini at Blue Zoo is really good.

It is Level vodka and maytag blue cheese stuffed olives.
I have to get one (or three) every time I am there.

Jellyrolls has a $10 cover, not sure if you want to stop there just to have a martini. Most who go in there are planning to stay at least a couple of hours.

That's what I was going to say. Also, I don't think I have ever seen anyone drinking a martini there. All the cups I have seen are inexpensive plastic that can be thrown away.

As to the original question, tony67 said it very well. We've taken our kids to BlueZoo several times, and they've been fine. Well behaved children are welcome at almost every WDW property restaurant.
I've seen maybe 6 kids total at Shula's, over more than 7-8 visits. Between those two places, BlueZoo would be a much better kids choice, IMHO.

Geez a 10.00 coverI guess I'll skip that. I thought I read some where that jelly rolls specialized in martinins. Guess thats wrong I read so much stuff when planning our first trip I can't keep it all straight. Thanks for the info on Bluezoo. My kids are well behaved at restaurants more so at disney because their so tired. I think we will give that a try.

While kids are "allowed" at Shula's, they are discouraged from coming. A child at Shula's is a rare sight indeed...

On our first trip in 2007 we took DD then four years old to Shulas with us for dinner. When I made the ADR I was told several times that Shulas does not have a children's menu.

I'll admit they did not look thrilled to see her when we checked in. And we were seated near a door to the kitchen in a fairly empty restaurant. Our waiter didn't look all that thrilled either when he showed up at our table. But we smiled and ordered and enjoyed our dinner.

By the time we left our waiter seemed much happier and the hostesses were very friendly to our DD on the way out. We have always taken DD with us to nice restaurants and she is extremely well behaved. She enjoys the fancier dinners just as much as we do.

I think as long as the child is well behaved and prepared to sit through a long meal they are fine. DD loves steak almost more then we do so she really enjoyed her dinner there.
