we also have second seating..we didn't have a choice, i booked online and it said first dining was full. so my 3 and 4 year old r gonna have to wait til 8-8:30 before they can eat dinner.it's a good thing they have snacks available all day to hold them over!
as far as the hotel stay on the 22nd, we only live a couple hours away but wanna get there early without waking at the crack of dawn. the cheapest place around the port i saw was like $65/night + tax&fees. plus $45 for parking at the port.(i don't know if you'll have a vehicle or not.)
but i booked country inn. after taxes it was about $135 and that includes a safe place to park your vehicle while you're on the cruise, and shuttle ride to and from the port( i read that it's $4/person otherwise.)
only 6 more looooooong weeks *can't wait!*
