I would do late August because there will usually be discounts (or lower rates at least) and somewhat lower crowds (my only worry would be hurricane season)
We have mostly gone in mid-June to early July and we have a blast despite the heat and crowds!

Well, I voted Spring Break. We are going this year from 3-20 to 3-29 for our first spring break Disney vacation. However, my opinion may change based on this trip. I have been toying with future trips to coincide with Memorial Day. As a previous poster said missing 2-3 days of school aren't bad. Our school district usually has Friday before and Memorial day off. I would leave on Thursday evening and come back Wednesday.
Kids can miss 2-3 days of school, but people who work for the school system are usually not allowed to take anytime off near holidays or start or end of school.

Late June. Not as hot as July or August. Earlier in the hurricane season compared to Late August.

Our Spring Break doesn't always coincide with Easter, so on years that Easter is early we'd pick that. On years that Easter is not early I'd pull them out on 4 day weeks or skip the trip.

Good thread, and I wonder the same as I'm thinking a few years in the future when we (hopefully) will return.

We are Canadian and from crowds and cost, the last week in August would be the best. But I don't think we could stand the heat (well, I love heat, but DH would hate it and I would worry too about my kids overheating). Also, I've heard there is lots of rain so that sounds miserable (although maybe is a good thing to cool off). Same issue in July in terms of the weather.

Christmas, everyone is off the same time so I would think that would be the worst time.

So I voted March Break...but NOT Easter so assuming these two do not coincide. (I"m actually tracking crowds on the Disney app this year to get an idea). At least the crowds will be spread out depending on the week of the break (although I think in Canada we're all the same) and weather should be nice. Downside as well though is the cost, both Disney and airlines.

PS - We don't have a mid winter break here, but if we did, February sounds like a good option too.

If those were my options I would chose the following in order:

Feb. break- good weather, lower crowds (the majority of schools in the country don't have a mid-winter break)
Late Aug.- weather is not going to be fun, really hot and rainy (we've gone during this time many times), but the crowds are generally pretty decent
Late June- weather probably better than late Aug., but also probably more crowded
Spring Break- Better weather, but more crowded
Christmas- Very crowded and could be too cold for me

We always vacation late August, as our anniversary is Aug 31st and kids don't go back to school until after Labor Day here in NY. Crowds are great at Uni but I have noticed the WDW foreign crowds get bigger at that time. Early and late hours, sleeping mid-day and wasting as little time for buses as possible is the only way we survive.

We just got back from week after presidents day and it was great. If I were you, I'd go in Feb.

We won't be able to go like that anymore as my nephew will be nearing middle school. We're in the same dilemma. Do we go with the horrible crowds at Easter, or the horrible heat lower crowds last week of August (he starts school after Labor Day). Hard choice! As much as we hate heat, we're thinking it may be better than the insane crowds. I hate the thought of both!

We only travel during breaks and have loved February, Christmas, and July. Hey each offer pluses and minuses. If it were a first trip, I would recommend February, as it is easier to learn the ropes with the heat (which hasn't bothered us) or biggest crowds (Christmas). No matter what they chooses, stress reading about that season to set expectations. I think that is why the heat doesn't bother me... I was expecting it to be awful! Armed with tips, I was able to enjoy the heat and humidity. (Bring on the pools and water rides!)

I chose late Feb because of heat/humidity/rain in June and August. We typically get 2 days off of school in October and go that week. If you spring break is near Easter, I would avoid that and Christmas at all costs because of higher prices and higher crowds.

We are tied to the school schedule, and our preferred time is right as soon as school ends for the year, but that is late May for us. Of the times you listed, I would go with late August because a lot of schools are back in by then.
