I am so frustrated. I have been trying for several months to get someone from the school DD will be attending next year to talk to me about registration. I don't want to wait until we move in June to register her. By then, all of the classes she wants will be filled. DD is very into theater and music. She has taken two years of theater classes here and wants to continue after we move. She has been in choir foreve! Those classes always fill up fast. I have called and emailed various people at her new school and they just ignore me. I finally got one of the counselors to return my email. I told her that DD and I would be in Orlando the second week of March and that we would like to meet to discuss registration and let DD see the school. She told me that she was busy, but to contact another woman. I emailed the woman and left her two phonemails. She has not responded. I made it very clear that I need to finalize plans since we have other things we need to do while we are in Orlando. I offered to meet with her whenever. I even emailed the principal. Nothing! Fortunately, the choir teacher from the high school has been very nice. He is auditioning students for next years choirs that week and has offered to audition DD after school one day. He even offered to let her sit in on one of his classes so that she could get a feel for things. He seems great! In fact, he is being considered for Disney's teacher of the year award! I just wish I could get the others to cooperate. It is difficult enough for DD to move to a new school. She would feel much better if she knew that she would get to take the type of classes she likes. Sorry for ranting!

Hey fellow KCer! Maybe you could get your DD's school that she is at now to call down there for you? Maybe one of her councellors?

Sonya, it's a small world! Thanks for the suggestion. I think I'll do that. I hope they will a least take their call! It doesn't bode well. DD currently goes to Oak Park. We love it. I hope her new school is half as good!!

So sorry for you, that stink. The school districts are one of the reasons we vetoed a Florida move two years ago. Although it is coming up again! They are just too big and nobody seems to know what is going on. All I can tell you is don't take no for an answer.

i would just show up at the school on one of the first days you are there and if they say they can't help you that day tell them you are there for such and such length of time and you need to get her registered now. I wouldn't take no for an answer.:wave2:
