School Winter Break/Christmas Vacation

When did/does your child start their winter break? DS10's last day of school was 12/16 (last Friday). He goes back 1/3. It seems like a lot of kids in other areas of the country still had school this week. DS almost had 2 or 3 days of school this week, to make up for missed hurricane days, but so many families were going away for Christmas that they decided to keep the vacation days.

Much to my children's dismay . . .they have a full day of school today (12/23) and will be starting their Winter Break tomorrow . . .they go back on January 3rd . . .

yesterday the kiddos had half a day of school, and they are off until Jan 9

My DD's break started today and she goes back on the 3rd.

DD 9 started Christmas break Dec 9 What were they thinking!!!????
And then school doesn't resume until January 4th. I have to take extra days off work because the teachers are having mandatory training Jan 2-3?

Wow, that's really early. Is that a school that goes year round (doesn't get 2 months off for summer)?

My DS also has a full day of school today (12/23) and he goes back to school on 1/2. It seems like most of the other schools in the area are off today though.

Their last day is today. They go back Jan 9.

Even though I have a toddler at home, I'm trying to soak up the last bit of calmness in the house before all the kids are at home at the same time

Actually its the new abbreviated schedule they came up with last year. They have a weeks Fall Break, 3 weeks for christmas, 1 week Spring Break and 2 month summer break. It sure does make it hard on working parents.

Well I'm in college so I came home on the 12 (had one final last Saturday that I drove back for) and don't start classes again until January 17 But I'm guessing you weren't talking about the college crowd.
My mom's a high school teacher. She, my sister and stepsister all had full days today, and go back the 3rd. Actually I only know my mom goes back the 3rd; the other two may go back the second. I really don't know. So it's a pretty short break for them. But they've already had 2 snow days this year, so it's probably good that this break was shorter; that generally means that they're ending earlier, so the snow days hopefully won't push them into July (unless we get the kind of winter I like)
