So we're moving this summer and putting the kids in private school.

I've already gotten some uniforms on Land's End, pants at Gap, etc on sale. Have to get the polo shirt embroidered with the school logo, so Land's End is pretty much the only option there.

DD has to wear a jumper, available only at one store in town. With navy, hunter green or white tights. (She doesn't like pants, so jumper it is)

Haven't seen any good deals on tights? Winter weight, since she'll wear knee socks until it gets cold. Land's End tights are expensive, IMO, so I'm looking for options. Don't need these to last forever....tights get pilly and stretched out. But I'd like to avoid paying $10 a pair.

does it have to be tights? We get away with YDD wearing leggings under her school skirts/jumpers/dresses. I just make sure they are the kind that won't get saggy or loose during the day. They look just like tights when they are tucked into her socks and shoes. We do pay close to $10 each pair of legging but they last forever.

I would avoid white, and invest in a few really good pairs so you will not be replacing them every week. I have found even though they cost more, lands end is worth the extra money.

My sister just got my niece some at Marshall's. They were 4.99 a pair. If there are any Burlington Coat Factory stores near you, they might have some. I have seen uniforms in there, so I am just assuming they would have tights. And since they are a discount store, they may be cheaper than other stores.

Hadn't thought about leggings, but DD loves to wear leggings under her dresses. And it gets very cold and snowy here, so they might be the solution. I'll ask the school, because I don't want to get a bunch and have the "not allowed"!

The Lands End tights might be pricey put they last like nothing I've ever seen. My DD outgrew hers after wearing them through 2 winters and they still looked almost new.

When my daughter was in private school, I was able to find the socks and tights at JC Penney. The Children's Place also sells them.

Target has nice, thin, cheap tights for $5 a pair. I buy the capri length to wear with short summer dresses for work.

I just bought the grandkids uniform items at cookieskids.com. Great prices and they tend to have plenty of codes as well.

I always find lots of heavyweight solid tights at K-mart. Buy a bit big if they are cotton; they shrink a bit.
