Well started to look at school uniform for DD, i know it is early, i have tried age 4 and 5 trousers on her, BUT there are way to big on the waist.

Does anyone know who does adjustable waist trousers and skirts for school in grey or black.

Cheers

Adams Kids do school uniform from age 3 up....even if the 4 and 5 are too big, the 3 should be ok, and the length difference is marginal until you get to 7,8 and 9....

If not, try and find somewhere that sells Trutex Junior schoolwear

If you need any more help just drop me a PM, I worked in a school outfitters for 6 years and my mum is still a branch manager so if you've got any special requirements I can find manufacturers and possibly even shops for you :)

I managed to get some adjustable waist trousers for DS in Asda, I am really pleased with the quality of them, the other place that might be of help is John Lewis, they are really helpful and quite reasonably priced

DD was very skinny at primary school - bhs and M&S trousers just slipped off her but we found Debenhams were a much slimmer fit. I've also sewn elastic to the inside of the waistband to make skirts smaller.

John lewis start their school uniform at age 2 :)

Thanks for all the replies.

I saw some in Tesco, the other day, but did not have her size in, and were good price, £6 for trousers and £4 for a ginham dress, and i think the skirts were £4/6.

I will look at all the places you have recommended. :thumbsup2

I thought i was the only one that would be shopping this early, obviously i'm not :sunny:

I was stuck on uniform as well. I have to order the Jumpers from the school as it has a logo on and I did not have a clue if to get 3-4 or 4-5!

We have school jumpers too with the logo, but you do not have to have them.
We uniform we have is not done in ages, and when looking at them they were small sizes, so i ordered 26 for her and not sure what age this is for. But fits great plenty of room

as a general guide (and this is from 6 years experience)
i've provided the range these sizes fit in in ages but obviously every child is different....the first age is big for age, middle is average for age, last age is small for age....

chest sizes in polo shirts and sweatshirts
22" is 3/4/5
24" is 4/5/6
26" is 6/7/8
28" is 7/8/9
30" is 8/9/10
32" is 9/10/11
34" is 11/12/13 (yes I know there is a jump but you're getting into adult sizes and garments are usually proportioned as such)
36" is small adult (14/15ish)
38" is medium adult (upper seniors)
40" large adult (well built seniors)

Hope that helps everyone! not just the people who are posting

Well just been to tesco and bought, 2 trousers and 1 skirt, trousers £6 and the skirt was a bargain £3.

So far got 2 skirts, 2 trousers and 1 dress, 4 t shirts (1 with logo) and 2 jumpers with logos, and 1 book bag.

Just need black shorts and red t shirts for PE.

Some cheap jumpers/cardis red and black

and the usual socks etc and we are all done
