Does anyone know how long a school has to complete testing (FAB, IQ and one other type)? I signed permission in Sept or even August for the testing (which I have been refusing for a looong time). As of right now only IQ has been completed. I know that his behavior is not the reason for the delay. I've already called school dept. and school to find out what the delay was and am just getting the run around. Before I start anything further I just want to know if there are time lines.

I am a Special Education Teacher in MN. Here we have 30 school days. I would get in touch with Pacer. They would be able to help you know your rights. They are based in MN but provide support for parents of children receiving special education services nation wide. They may be able to put you in touch with someone who can help you advocate for your child.

It's 30 days here in MA, too. I actually thought this was a federal law, but I could be mistaken.

Most states are 60 days, although there are a few who allow it to drag out to 90

Call the state DOE and ask. Most states have an IDEA compliance official.

I should add: the 30 days here just includes the testing, there are additional days within which to have the meeting.

OP- You could also check and see if the info. you need is on your state's DOE website. I know this info. is on the MA one. It would probably be good to familiarize yourself with the process and your rights.:)

I'm a School Psychologist and here in Connecticut, you have 45 school days to complete assessments from the time the consent is signed. I do believe it is different in every state.

Thanks. I will get on the phone first thing Monday with the school dept. Funny thing is I signed in Sept or even August (he does extended year) and then again in early October/November they had me sign another one. But I'll be nice, ask the school dept to send me the one from Sept. and then Bamm! Complain!!
