Staples started their BTS sales this week, the deals I took advantage of were:

ruled index cards-.01
Zebra pens 24 ct-$5.00
multipurpose paper-$6.99, $6.98 back from rewards
4 pk glue sticks-$1

and I didn't see it in the ad, but I picked up a couple packs of filler paper for .85 each. They had backpacks discounted some, you could get a deal on those by printing off the 20% off one item coupon on their website, but it expires today. They also had other penny and dollar items in the ad, just nothing I needed.

Has anyone seen any other sales starting? I haven't been in Walmart or Target.

Walmart has CrazArt crayons for 25 cents and markers for 50 cents. 2 pack glue sticks were 50 cents. Other stuff too, but those are what I got.

Office Max started today with penny glue and penny folders with a $5 purchase-you can get 10 of each which seems generous to me. The composition books for .50 and $1 binders look good too.

Cam someone tell me how the Staples Rewards work? I considered buying the multipurpose paper at 6.99 to hit the $5 minimum for the.01 items. How do the $6.98 in rewards come back to you??

The way I understand it is you get 5% back for all purchases (not positive it's everything) bought within a certain time frame and the $6.98 for the paper and other special purchase rewards. When you reach $10 you can print out a coupon for $10 to use in the store or you can use it online.

Here's what the website says: Staples Rewards members receive 5% back in Rewards on all items excluding taxes, postage, prepaid phone cards, delivery charges, coupons, gift cards and purchases made on 3rd party websites. Staples Rewards® are issued online monthly when the value of the Reward is at least $10. Rewards expire no less than 60 days after issuance. Monthly balances of less than $10 will roll over each month until the minimum is met for that calendar quarter. If the $10 minimum for the quarter has not been met, the balance will expire at the end of the quarter. Rewards Members receive free shipping on all orders placed on staples.com or by phone at 1-800-333-3330 for which a Membership account is identified, excluding orders made at documents.staples.com, print.staples.com, staplespromotionalproducts.com, and third party websites linked to staples.com. Standard Staples delivery policies apply. Limit one Staples Rewards account per person or at any mailing address. Additional accounts will be cancelled. Adjustments to your Staples Rewards account may be initiated to correct a processing error.

Just bought 20- 1 subject notebooks at Walmart for 17 cents a piece! Usually the wide rule go quickly so I was happy to get 20 wide rule ahead of the mad school supply rush!

You can sign up for a Staples Rewards card at the store before you make your purchases. Each time you shop, present the card or give your telephone number to receive credit. In addition to the free or almost free paper deals, you can earn rewards by recycling ink and toner cartridges. Some weeks there are increased rewards if you buy a certain amount of ink or toner on the same day as you recycle. I have a small home business and I get coupons via email every week for deals on office supplies, cleaning supplies, and office equipment.

Can I say...This is WAY too soon for me. We just got out of school two weeks ago. Not to say I won't be there to buy the $.01 stuff especially since I have $4 in rewards to spend but still waaaayyy too soon.

Thanks for the info, hadn't looked at the sale papers yet. School starts back Aug 5th, but they did get out on May 24th.

wow! DD15 got out the same day, but doesn't go back until august 19th! our state legislature passed a law last year that prohibited schools from starting before the 3rd week of august. i like the slightly longer summer, but miss the fall break and holidays that were taken away to make up the required # of days.

to go back OT, i haven't seen any good sales yet on school supplies; i need to check wal-mart. don't think we'll need to get much-bought DD the $120 calculator last year, and i've got tons of stuff leftover from previous years. hard to believe she'll be a sophomore in HS!

We go back August 7th and I thought that was icky.

We don't need much for school supplies this year I don't think but I was looking over the 8th grade list and know I need to pick up 50 sheet protectors.

I think that's alot but I will use any extras left at the end of the school year.

The staples flier this weekend had a coupon for $5 off $30 and I also have the 15% off back to school card so I saved a nice chunk.

Wow, that is early! I don't know if our Staples will have everything in stock now, they usually run out by Sunday night. :headache:

Can someone remind me how the teacher thing works? I know you get 25 of everything instead of only 2 of the 1 cent items, but is that true for the "buy $5 and get two for a penny" deals?

Thanks,

Dawn

Walgreens has Mead spirals BOGO, and the P & G coupon insert has $1 off 2.

Just FYI, at our Walgreens these were 10.5 x 8.5 check the size.

Target had the standard size Mead, but not on sale...the coupon would work, but I'm waiting for a sale.

Yeah, kind of made me sick to my stomach. I'm a teacher and we got out June 7th. I just got done with a 2 week summer program on Thursday, so my summer has just begun.

Still, I couldn't resist the 50 cent markers. We always run out of red and black, so I bought 10 extra packs. And I get crayons for Operation Christmas Child boxes so 25 cents was too good a deal to pass up.

I love back to school time. I'm a mom and a teacher. My last day with my preschool class was May 15, so I'm ready to go back. Just got my letter telling me about start ups for next month.

Haven't picked up anything yet but I'm making a list of what I need.

All the kids I know are ordering their uniforms from Aeropostale online right now. It's the mad rush a month ahead of time before everything's gone.

any good deals out there on gel pens? I really like the glitter ones but will take whatever I can get. Im a teacher so we go throuhg a ton!!!

We are Year-Round, so we go back next week. Some schools started yesterday! I have to make a mad dash for the rest of the supplies on our list, but thankfully I had most of them in my own stockpile here at home.

We also got out of school two weeks ago and when I saw the ad it made me sick. I looked at DD's supply list and figure I may hit Staples to get the penny items. I can easily spend $5 to get those deals. I do miss when teachers could get 25 of the penny items instead of the 2.
