school summer break?

Hi all

Please would you give me an idea of when the schools go back in Ca after the Summer break?
I've heard that August can be really busy so trying to plan a trip late August/beginning of September.

It varies from district to district. Some go back mid-August while others don't go back until the Tuesday after Labor Day. Others are year-round and at any given time 1/4 of the students are off-track. The last week of August might be your best choice to avoid crowds and have the largest number of attractions open (many are going down for refurb right after Labor Day).

This is what I was hoping for - so we booked our trip from 8/24 - 8/29, which is the weekend before labor day.
