I really would love to take up archery (and wanted to do so for years before this new hype about it) but don't know where to start. I should look into that again. I will say this... I do believe that everyone should have a very basic gun safety course, even those who do not own them. And I think it should be done at a young age. This is what my dad did with me (he was a police officer and kept his duty weapon with him as they were required to have "control of their weapons at all times"). I grew up with a healthy respect for the weapon and never messed with it due to that. It is my belief that a lot of the problems when it comes to guns in homes and accidents involving children is that the gun is kept a mystery to the child. It is considered a "toy" because there was no teaching otherwise.
Give it a "shot"
it is great fun. Remember to protect your arm! We didn't grow up with gun usage but there were two antique guns in the house. We knew they were there, and they were real and that they could kill people and had. (One ww2, one my grandfathers police weapon)
