im doing the college program and im paranoid that my school will screw something up for me. When would disney call and let me know about this? i acccpted about a month and a half ago but i feel like i cant put off planning things by now... any guess when i would hear if i do that my school is not letting me do it?

The college program doesn't tell your school that you are doing the program- it is up to you if you want to earn credit for the program or need to be earning credits for financial aid to talk to a counselor/advisor and figure things out. Otherwise, you're just taking a semester off. :confused3

This is correct. You need to go to your advisor and make sure you will be or can get get credit for the program. If not, then you'll be doing the program for no credits.
Technically this step should be taken care of before you accept for your role so they (your school) don't say no at the last second and you end up skipping a semester, that's just my two cents.

I'm also worried, bittersk. Due to illness, I was out a LOT this semester and therefore my grades totally tanked. I'm not positive when Disney checks GPAs, but I sure hope they've already checked mine and approved me! Otherwise, I'm screwed!

Disney does say that they will check with your school and they may tell them you can't go. I would love to know if this happended to anyone!

No idea! but lets hope since im down to 39 days and paid for everything already that they already checked

My question is - WHEN do they check? Before they accept you, or sometime after that?

they provide them a continually updated list online. they ask the schools by sending a few reminders to the schools shortly after the campus presentation or if they only have e-presentation people, after so many people have done that. they also send a reminder at the end of the semester.

they ask them to verify that they meet disney's requirements and any other requirements the school may have. if someone on the list doesn't then the school lets disney know.

i asked recruiting this very recently because i was curious if they had changed it since i last asked. talked to a woman named annie who actually is involved with doing this. she went into a lot of detail on it. several years ago, they used to send us reps and someone at our school this info via email as an excel document.

they also send a reminder at the end of the semester.

Yikes - this could be bad news for me! Do you know if the schools have to respond to every reminder Disney sends out? (I'm hoping my school has already responded and doesn't feel like responding any more, seeing as how they don't work with the CP anyway.)

Also, I'm considering asking my doctor for a letter that would make me eligible for a medical leave of absence from school, therefore saving my GPA. Do you - or anybody reading - think that if I were to do this, I'd still be eligible for the CP? We only need to be enrolled in school at the time of the interview, right?

Thanks in advance!
