School project - make a "newspaper" - please help!

I posted this on the Community board, but I figured you're all creative over here, so you might be able to help too!
I have an English project due next Thursday, 4/5/07. It is supposed to be an original, creative newspaper dedicated to Lord of the Flies. The completed assignment is supposed to look like a real newspaper. I wrote all of the articles, but I'm having trouble with the last part - what kind of paper do I put them on? I thought of getting those big pads of paper that go on easels, but the cheapest I could find was around $20 and there is no way I am shelling out $20 when I will use only 1 (maybe 2 if I mess up) sheets of it! Any ideas on what else I could use? Posterboard was considered, but it's very thick. I suppose that will be a last resort, as it is not very "newspaper-like". TIA!

How big does it have to be?You should be able to find newspaper sketch pads in the crayon dept or kids dept at Walmart or the dollar store. How about Michael's or ACMoore?

Also I'm not sure how expensive it is but moving paper would work too. I think you can buy it at Home Depot or a U-Haul rental place. It comes in a box.

Wrapping paper. Get plain wrapping paper (non-waxy kind), write your stories on it and then dunk it in diluted tea to age it.

Did you try contacting the local newspaper for the end of the reem? That might work too...just a thought

Check and see if your school has paper that's used to cover bulletin boards or displays. That stuff is usually thin, and you can attach stuff to it or write on it fairly well. There is usually a white one that comes with the set of colors (when you order the paper). That might be a way to do it, and if you could get it, you would only have to cut off the little bit you might need!
