School on Good Friday?

Where I used to live the school spring break almost always coincided with Passover and Easter unless both occurred in late April since that happens occasionally. But down here the schools in my city are open on Friday and closed the week after after for Spring Break, which makes me glad i don't have any kids yet.

The local schools around here were scheduled to be off Good Friday, but they are now using it as a make-up day, but they will be off the following week.

We homeschool and are taking Good Friday off since Dad is off of work. This will give me some time to get somethings done too.

Our district builds 2 "bad weather make up" days into the school calendar (we're in Texas, so we've never needed more than two ice/snow days). They are almost always Good Friday and the Monday after Easter. In most years we get one, if not both, days off.

Our schools (public and Catholic) have Good Friday off, always have. When I was in grammar school, a parochial one, we always had Holy Thursday and Good Friday off. Now I think my old grammar school has a 1/2 day on Holy Thursday with Good Friday off. My husband has the day off from work also.
