Art: Art began to research Geology with Victoria. He said, "This project is going to be very interesting. Merl- Err, my teacher back at home taught me a little bit about the Hardness Scale of rocks and minerals."

Victoria:" What did he tell you? I love exploring nature and rock climbing, but know nothing about them. I'll read up on them."

Art: "Rocks are characterized by many different things. Luster, Streak, Color being the few. Color isn't a very good indicator because there are many different rocks with many different colors. Hardness is another way to tell between them, because it narrows it down to what kind of rock it is. There are layers upon rocks in the earth, all of them each a little different in the other."
