School Nurses: You're the BEST!

Well, I have a whole new appreciation for all those hard-working school nurses! Today was staff appreciation day at our school and I was supposed to cover the office phones while the secretaries and school nurses went out for lunch. A mom, who's also a nurse, filled in too. She was SOO busy! I became the "triage" coordinator, putting the scraped knees and loose teeth to one side and the tummy ache, fever kids to the other.

It was like the emergency room at a busy hospital in there ALL DAY. What a tough job. If there are any school nurses out there, thanks. You do a difficult job, don't get a lot of pay, and take such good care of our kids. Happy Nurse's Day!

Personally, I think the Dialysis nurses are the best ,
but I guess the school nurses are okay too.

Awwwwww, gee. . . Thanks!! I was a full-time school nurse for 7 years, and now I am the only substitute for the nurses in my old school district. This past Tuesday alone I saw 80 kids. Sometimes it is slow, but when it is busy it can be VERY crazy. It is so nice to be appreciated .
