Inspired by Haylea's dress code thread.
Does your school issue I.D's for you to wear at school?
Is it mandatory for yall to wear them?
If you guys arent wearing them do you get a detention/referal?

-----
My school administrators do random classroom checkings for I.Ds. All students and teachers in the classroom must have their I.D. around the neck, visible. They always make an announcement saying how many kids/teachers didnt have one and if the teacher was without one they let us know that they will be supplying them a lanyard.

We must wear our I.D's, our teachers check. If you are without your I.D you will get a detention. After your 3rd time, I think you get a referral. It's a bit ridiculous, but I can totally see why they are requiring it.

Never had to wear or show our school I.Ds unless we were checking out a library book.

We have to wear ours everyday. If you don't have it with you, you have to pay $5 for a new one. Every time.

We get them, but we dont really ever need them.
I think the only time we have to use them is to get into things like prom and homecoming, but I think you can also use a state issued ID.
So yeah, our school IDs are really pointless.

I need mine for all kinds of things. To get my tuition balance, current grades, schedule, register for classes, print out something at the library, buy something from the bookstore, eat at the foodcourt, obtain a parking pass, everything.

i have a school id, but its not something i have to wear. it just goes in my wallet. seniors get blue, everyone else has red. i honestly don't know what they're for. i've never been asked to present mine.

We have them but don't really use them. I'd be screwed because theyh never issued me one.

Yeah, and they always have our yearbook pictures on them so most of the kids wrap tape or something around all of it but the bar code.
We use them to get library books, lunch, and to get in to school sporting events free.
Other than that we don't need them.

a lot of you said that you use your id to get lunch. my school issues lunch numbers. and all you have to say is your last name to the librarian and she looks you up in the system and you can get a book.

my lunch number is 1136.
in elementary school it was 1136985.

evidently they think a kindergartener can remember a 7 digit number better than a highschooler. ;)

I don't, for obvious reasons.

At my old school, they issued them but we never used them. My school was so small that every student/teacher knew every student/teacher, and most of the parents knew every student and vice versa. So we didnt really need them.

We have then.
If you want to buy lunch then you either swipe your card or enter your 5digit number.
Mine has been on my fridge all year.
Their worthless in my school....lol

Well ours aren't really ID cards....ours have a barcode and they scan it at lunch so they can bill our account every day for lunch. We don't have to wear it if we don't want to but we HAVE to have it at lunch and if we don't we have to wait until EVERYBODY has gone through the line and then she types our name into the computer. If we lose it then we have to pay $5 for a new one

My school has school IDs. We use them for lunch. But we memorized our own ID numbers. We have to have them to check out at the library, though.

Nope.

Well, we have them, but we're not required to wear them. School library, you give your name, bam. They find you in the computer.

Teachers don't even have to wear them. We're a pretty relaxed school for ID.

We don't have IDs. The only use I've ever had for one is to go to another school's dance, in which case you have to go to guidance and you get a paper notarized that has your name and yearbook picture on it. We pay cash upfront for lunch, so we don't use cards for that. I think we should to protect the privacy of those families that may be embarrassed to present their reduced/free lunch cards, but thats another topic.

We have that too. I rented a book today from the library and I only had to say my last name and she looked me up in the system.
For lunch we have a keypad, and type in our number that leads to the account.
The only thing odd about that is all throughout elementary and intermediate school, I could put a 0 before the number. (Well, that's how it was issued to me) Now in high school, you don't put the 0. :confused3

We have them, but we don't really need to use them, unless they need to verify it's us. I've used it twice to get some computer passwords.

You can use it to get discounts in shops, but I always forget to bring it with me -_-

We have IDs but we don't really use them.
Only for sporting events, dances, and computer access.
