school dress code/ uniform question

Lands end rocks for school uniforms.
We has 3 sets for our kids.
Both kids played sports, so had school cloths, sports cloths, and after practice cloths to do everyday, so DW had to do several loads for laundry every day, so no big deal to have clean uniforms with just 3 sets. (don't miss those days, we were doing 35 full loads of laundry a week. Down to about 5 now)

All of my kids have always been in Catholic School so we've been buying uniforms for years. I DO believe they save you money because I know I spend a lot more on their clothes in the summer months!

The girls wear skorts and they have 3. 4 short sleeve polos, 4 long sleeve polos, 1 sweater, 1 gym suit, 5 pairs knee socks.

DS has 3 pairs of pants, 2 shorts, 4 short sleeve polos, 2 long sleeve polos, 2 long sleeve turtlenecks, 1 vest, 1 sweater, 1 gym suit, 5 pairs of dress socks.

It makes it so easy, especially with the girls. I think I'd be crazy if the girls wore regular clothes to school, we can barely survive "dress down day"!

Just got back from the uniform store with my 15 y/o.

We got:

Black twill pants, 5
Short sleeve oxford shirts, 4
Monogrammed polos, 3
Tie, 1
Shoes, 1
Gym Uniform, 1

Total Bill - $467.00

My friend was with me and got:
Skirt, 1
Sweater Vest, 1
Polos, 3
Socks, 12 pair
Shoes, 1 pair
Gym Uniform, 1
Short Sleeve Blouse, 3

Her cost - $505.00

There is no way in heck I'm spending 1500$ (3 in school) on uniforms no way!!!!! I didn't spend half that last year on clothes. Holy hell that scares me I don't have that much extra in clothes budget right now it's 200$ a piece if they need more thru the school year we'll buy a little at a time :scared1:

No need, you can get good quality for less . Land's end wouldnt cost near that : ) . I just tried on all of last years uniforms. He has 4 pairs of shorts that still fit , look brand stinking new . LOL I thought I didn't like Land's end as much as the clothes I have bought at Dillards, I think I was wrong : ). Just have to add a cpl a cpl of new shirts, for now since the shirts still fit and are holding up well too.

I have saved tons with uniforms. I buy 4 sets of shorts and short sleeve for about 80.00, 2 pair of pants and 2 long sleeve. Dont spend more than 140.00 ish and I don't have to buy winter until almost Nov. Play clothes, aren't really needed, he can still wear his summer stuff all year unless we have a freak cold snap then I only buy a cpl of pairs of jeans and a warm up suit . 1 or 2 sets of nice church clothes and we are done. For year.

Ds 7 plays just fine in his uniforms , never complains about being uncomfortable.

My oldest is 21, he was introduced to uniforms at 6th grade. Best decision ever!!

We live in MN, wearing their "summer" clothing in the winter is not an option.
