My pleasure! I remember one day in tech. class we were welding and soldering and I went to my grandparent's house that night for dinner and as soon as I walked in, my grandpa (a tech teacher) said "you were using solder in school today, weren't you?", despite my mad attempts at washing it with the soap that they had at school!

It's, simply, the joining together of metal pieces using solder (which is a metal alloy which becomes melted and joins the metal together...sort of like a REALLY strong glue which, when done correctly, will not come apart.).

Beta Club is an academic based thing-You get good grades in 7th grade, you are invited to beta club, and then you do community service stuff.

You actually have NJHS!?!?! Not fair. NJEHS would be nice to have. I could get into almost any academic club out there; art clubs and drama clubs too.

But why do people do it?

To keep metal together. Think of things made of metal or have metal framing (like a car which has it's metal frame, to give an example). They need to stay together some how, right? This is a method of doing so.

I've never even seen people weld much. So I don't know much about it.
So anything someone tells me is something new. And of course I keep it in mind...since well I'm going to need it!

We aren't welding till the end of the year I believe.
Unfortunately...but I think my friends are glad. They are scared...I am a little too.
But it'll be fun!
