A sweet yeast roll filled with vanilla custard. The outside of the roll has a glaze and is rolled in coconut. It is very, very good. I always get a couple to go and eat them the next morning for breakfast. I have eaten them a couple dyas after purchase and they are still good. They sell at the Norway bakery in the WS.

I don't find the bread itself super sweet but the custard inside is like a thick, sweet pudding almost. That makes it all sweet tasting. The glaze adds sweetness, too. If you're wondering if this is more a bread to accompany a meal then I would say no. It's more a dessert bread, IMO.

And might I add, it is amazing! I love, love, love this! I introduced my mother to many of my favorite snacks and sweets on our trip in Jan. and she said this bread was her favorite thing from the entire trip. It always is for me, too!

I LOVE the School Bread!! Just had one last Sunday...They aren't overly sweet- I think the posters have done a good job describing it.

We had our first order of school bread on our last trip. We ripped into it like a monkey on a cupcake! Incredible. If you have access to a microwave, try heating it just a little. Wow!

I have to agree that the school bread is a must have on our visits. Another fave at the Norway bakery is the "Rice Dream" dessert. It is a creamier version of rice pudding with a strawberry topping.

we tried ALOT of the desserts in Norway. The chocolate cake was great, so was the little chocolate cup with the fruit. Rice Cream is good, not very sweet, but tasty. The School Bread is delightful, but be forewarned! It sells out quickly! Well worth the price of a locker in my opinion to buy several to stash for the next mornings breakfast!
